Discover the spellbinding sequel to Coral & Bone…

A demented twin sister, a demon hijacking her powers, and a mysterious journal filled with more questions than answers—Halen needs her Guardian Dax more than ever. But if she confides in Dax, she fears he will never forgive her, not after all he sacrificed to help her vanquish Asair. Halen drowned Asair in a tornado of wings—at least, she thought she killed him. Why then does his mocking voice snake through her thoughts, enticing her to surrender her power? Maybe she screwed up—big time—but she will never allow Asair to control her magick. And when Etils’ fires threaten the Earth, suspicions surrounding Asair’s death rise, igniting restlessness within the realms. Her life in balance, Halen must race time, purge the demon’s soul before flames consume the Earth or the Tari strike first.

5 ★ –   EXCEPTIONALLY DAZZLING FROM START TO FINISH

Curses and Ash is even more enthralling than the first book. With magical creatures, edge of your seat action, secrets and betrayal that will break your heart, and danger lurking at every corner, this spellbinding adventure had me holding my breath until the end.

There’s no denying that I’m in love with this enchanting world. Duane beautifully created a wonderful and enticing story that I never want to end. There was so much excitement, heartbreak, tension, and insanely good twists and turns. My mind was a jumbled mess, and I didn’t know who was telling the truth or which way the story was going to go. There was never a boring moment for me and I absolutely loved not knowing what would happen next. And that ending… after that I just could not breathe! My emotions were all over the place and I couldn’t stop being anxious — so much so that I  purchased the ebook for Smoke and Ruin as soon as I got home from work and read the first two chapters. Good thing I took a vacation day tomorrow (3/2) cause I’ll be staying up tonight (3/1) and reading Smoke and Ruin! I may even have finished by the time this review goes live).

The characters were fantastic and grew so much from the time they were introduced. Halen became quite powerful and more resilient. Even though she still wasn’t sure about her destiny, Halen was able to stand her ground and became the kind of heroine that I admire. Dax was more mysterious and a bit harsh sometimes that I don’t know how I feel about him now. Tage and Ezra made me laugh and cry. I have a soft spot for those two and rooted for them so hard. Asair was a fun complication that I couldn’t resist and I enjoyed getting to know him more. I also loved his interactions with Halen. And Natalie… well she’s totally badass in her own ways. I don’t want to say too much, but there were so many secrets about the characters that added more conflict and drama to the story and I LOVED IT! I may have had a change of heart a few times, but I definitely enjoyed all the surprises.

Tiffany Duane’s wicked imagination and gorgeous writing had me completely mesmerized. It’s exceptionally breathtaking, incredibly unique, and emotionally draining. Curses and Ash had everything that I love about fantasy books – fascinating creatures, fast-paced action, complicated relationships, exhilarating drama, complex characters, and unexpected twists. I really don’t want to leave this magical place just yet, but I’m also very excited to find out how it all ends.

If you’re looking for a series that will have you turning page after page, then add this to your TBR or even better… just pick up Coral and Bone and get started! I don’t know about you, but I’ll be curled up in bed with my Kindle and spending the night with Smoke and Ruin. I just hope my heart will still be in one piece when it’s all over.

Blog Tour – Sweet Dreams by Marika Ray

Title: Sweet Dreams
Series: Beach Squad Series #1
Author: Marika Ray
Genre: Romance
Release Date: February 22, 2018

synopsispic
A romance so sweet it’ll give you a cavity…

After the devastating loss of my parents when I was in college, I vowed to focus all my energy on fulfilling my promise to my mom: to open up the hot chocolate store we’d always dreamed of running together.

No distractions. My plans are set.

But things heat up faster than I can handle when a bronzed lifeguard pursues me in the most delicious of ways. Mix in a stalker determined to throw me off my game, and a comical, ass-kicking Beach Squad (okay, ‘squad’ is a littler over the top…it’s just me and my two best friends)…well, then you have a situation that requires a level of bravery I don’t know if I possess.

I may appear to be a damsel in distress, but I can save my own damn self, thank you very much. And I might just keep that hottie lifeguard as the whipped cream on top of my sweet dreams.

***Warning: this book contains references to sexual assault. 18+ strong adult content. Oh, and cursing. Let’s not forget the cursing.***

4 ★ – Sweet, Adorable and Deliciously Swoony

This book pleasantly surprised me and had my heart melting from the start. With delicious chemistry, hilarious bantering, steamy sexy scenes, and heartwarming friendships, Sweet Dreams by Marika Ray is a delightfully fun debut novel.

The plot was well-paced, never dull, and satisfyingly intriguing through the end. Even though I predicted who the stalker was, I thought the mystery aspect was still really fun. The romance heated up way too fast for my liking, but the chemistry between Esa and Ivan was just too sweet and adorable that I couldn’t resist falling head over heels in love with them. I absolutely enjoyed all their interactions – from the first time they met, to their first kiss, and their sizzling sex scenes. I did so much swooning that my heart couldn’t take anymore!

I also really liked the side characters and thought they were just charming. Esa’s best friend, Bailey, was just the BEST best friend anyone could have and I loved how protective she was of Esa. Ivan’s lifeguard buddies were so fun and cute too! Hopefully one or two of them will have a book in the series. I’m totally down for that… cause you can never have too many hot book boyfriends.

I loved Esa from the start. She’s independent, kind, sweet and funny. Even after going through a very dark past with so much pain, Esa kept fighting to achieve her dreams. She’s very determined, hard-working and incredibly passionate about her business. While she’s more than capable of standing on her own, Esa deserves her happily ever after in the romance department. That’s where Ivan comes in. With his big gentle loving heart and adorable personality, Ivan was exactly who Esa needed. Not only is Ivan devastatingly handsome, he’s also incredibly caring, super romantic, and would do anything for Esa. They’re perfectly shippable and so ridiculously swoony!

This book had me on the sweetest sugar rush. I was completely hooked and could not stop smiling throughout the entire time I was reading. Sweet Dreams is surely one yummy treat! If you’re in the mood for some delicious fun that will make your heart melt, then I highly recommend you pick this book up.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the Enticing Journey Book Promotions in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
