Waiting on Wednesday – Sea Witch

waitingonwednesdaynew

Hello fellow bookaddicts. I almost forgot, but here I am back for another Waiting on Wednesday which is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. A similar meme, Can’t-Wait Wednesday, is hosted by Tressa over at Wishful Endings. If you’d like to participate in either one, don’t forget to link back to these lovely ladies and add your links in their posts.

My pick for this week’s “can’t wait to read” is

Everyone knows what happens in the end.
A mermaid, a prince, a true love’s kiss.
But before that young siren’s tale, there were three friends.
One feared, one royal, and one already dead.

Ever since her best friend, Anna, drowned, Evie has been an outcast in her small fishing town. A freak. A curse. A witch.

A girl with an uncanny resemblance to Anna appears offshore and, though the girl denies it, Evie is convinced that her best friend actually survived. That her own magic wasn’t so powerless after all. And, as the two girls catch the eyes—and hearts—of two charming princes, Evie believes that she might finally have a chance at her own happily ever after.

But her new friend has secrets of her own. She can’t stay in Havnestad, or on two legs, unless Evie finds a way to help her. Now Evie will do anything to save her friend’s humanity, along with her prince’s heart—harnessing the power of her magic, her ocean, and her love until she discovers, too late, the truth of her bargain.

The rise of Hans Christian Andersen’s iconic villainess is a heart-wrenching story of friendship, betrayal, and a girl pushed beyond her limits—to become a monster.

First of all, that book cover is absolutely mesmerizing… It’s seriously calling to me so of course I had to add this on my TBR. BUT… after reading the synopsis, I’m honestly super excited to read this retelling and it’s from Ursula’s POV!! Sounds like there’ll be some epic FEELS and heartbreak and I just can’t wait!! Probably shouldn’t request this on Netgalley since I still have so many ARCS to read…but I’m most definitely considering it…I’m trying so hard not to do it cause I really need to be good and not request anymore….it’s just this really sounds so AMAZING!!!

So far I haven’t requested…but who knows what will happen later, tomorrow, or next week.

What are your thoughts on this book? Would you read it? What’s on your Waiting on Wednesday pick today? Leave your links on the comments below so I can check out your post and find more books to add on my TBR!

Top Ten Tuesday – Books That Have Been On My TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read

toptentuesdays

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and has been moved to That Artsy Reader Girl since January 16, 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic for Top Ten Tuesday is – Books That Have Been On My TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read (but I still plan to…someday). I’m sure we can all agree that our TBRs will never end. Personally, mines has been out of control for a very long time and just grows and grows every single day. There are TOO MANY BOOKS that I want to read…so without further ado, here are 10 books/series that I still plan on reading someday, but have been on my TBR forever….

I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios

meetyouthere

After I read the premise for this book, I knew I had to have it. I bought the book from Bookoutlet, it arrived, added it on my TBR, and somehow I forgot about it. I went to Yallwest, met the author, and told her how excited I was to read it, but then weeks and months later, I still haven’t. It’s been years now and it’s still on my TBR waiting to be read. I do plan on reading it…just don’t know when.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

by J.K. Rowling

I really need to just finish this series. I have the book set. I read the first book years ago and loved it. I also really love the movies. Oh and I’m quite obsessed with all things Harry Potter, so I don’t know what spell I’m under because I can’t seem to bring myself to marathon these books.

Crewel World Series by Gennifer Albin

So this was a bit of an impulse buy when I first discovered Bookoutlet. I can never resist books with gorgeous covers. I did briefly read the premise and was quite intrigued, but years later and I still have not even started.

The Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard

I really enjoyed The Red Queen and was incredibly excited when this book came out. But as usual, I was reading something else at the time. I planned on rereading before starting this so I can get a refresher, but decided I would just wait it out until the other books came out.

The Red Rising Saga by Pierce Brown

I’ve heard so many amazing things about this series, so I really don’t know why I haven’t started it… I mean other than the fact that I like to binge series cause I’m not that very good at waiting. I do have 2 of the books though.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

I’ve had the book set for like 5 years now and I tell myself all the time that I’m going to start this series on so and so month… but still hasn’t happened.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

Here’s another series that I’ve been wanting to read in forever, but for some reason I haven’t…If I only have enough time I think most of these books would have been read already… but Oh My Damn … there are just way too many awesome books that I add more than I can read.

The Program Series by Suzanne Young

I had this book on my Amazon wishlist for quite a while… then I discovered Bookoutlet and bam… I bought the books and planned on finally reading them. But I get reading mood swings and I wasn’t feeling the dystopian theme or reading about suicides. I guess I’m still not in the mood to read anything heavy or depressing.

Enders (Starters #2) by Lissa Price

I saw the first book while shopping at Costco and thought whoa that cover is absolutely mesmerizing. I immediately grabbed the book, read the premise and bought it. I remember reading and being incredibly intrigued by the storyline. It was interesting, thrilling, a bit creepy, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I saw the book on sale… wait for it… at BOOKOUTLET. This online bookstore is without a doubt the best and the worst. I could spend hours just browsing books there and the prices are so great that I end up buying so many. I love it when I finally get my order and opening the box is just so exciting. But then I end up with all these books… It shouldn’t really surprise me that I haven’t read most of them.

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

When I first got obsessed with Bookoutlet, this was one of the books/series that I wanted to read. I tried to buy all of them with every intention of doing a reading marathon…but… yeah I really don’t have an excuse. I did read the Wait for You series by JLA and absolutely loved it so maybe this year I’ll finally get to this… hopefully.

Bookoutlet was definitely one of the main reasons why I have so many books on my shelves. Seriously…do not get addicted to Bookoutlet. Not that I regret buying from there, but it’s a love/hate thing.
