The last city on Earth is contaminated. Now blood is the only thing that can wash it clean.

Julia is trapped inside the Blue as the Nobles fight over the few humans who are still alive. When the dust settles and she finds herself shackled to a new master, she knows she must escape or die.

Meanwhile, Cam has gathered a handful of comrades and is on his way into the Red to rescue his queen. But not all of his friends can be trusted, and not all of them will make it back alive.

The Silver Queen is the second book in Josie Jaffrey’s Sovereign trilogy, set in a dystopian Europe where vampiric Nobles control the last remnants of the human race.

Undeniably Fascinating, Deliciously Dark, and Emotionally Twisty

Blood was spilled. Hearts were broken. And the intoxicating FEELS in this sequel will have you reeling!!!

This book left me absolutely stunned! And I mean that in the most wonderful way. Josie Jaffrey brought me back into this deliciously dark and terrifying, but undeniably fascinating dystopian world without holding anything back. As I’m thrown deeper into this world, I was positively engrossed by Jaffrey’s beautiful writing, her creativity, and the perfectly broken and flawed characters you can’t help but love. The plot was wonderfully paced, utterly thrilling, and there was never a dull moment. I loved the twists and turns, the fabulous fighting scenes, the secret and lies, the confusion and heartbreak, the romances, the drama, the few lighthearted moments sprinkled here and there, and everything else in between. It was truly an addictive read and I enjoyed every second with every beat of my heart.

I enjoyed both the POVs. They were both different journeys, but still had the same intensity, thrill, and excitement. I loved the way Jaffrey merged them and how everything came together in the end. The story consumed me in ways that I never expected and left me incredibly concerned for the characters I’ve come to know and love. I really want to rave about EVERYTHING that happened in this book, but I’m not going to do that. You’ll just have to continue this adventure for yourself if you’ve already started, and if you haven’t, then you should cause this book… this series… it’s just so damn good!

The Silver Queen was a fantastic and thrillingly twisty emotional ride that I never wanted to end. With plenty of action, betrayal, mystery, romance and danger lurking at every corner, this book had me gripping the edge of my seat. The cliffhanger in the end left me desperately and in dire need to be back in this world and I’m so glad I don’t have to wait cause I’m sinking my teeth into The Bloody Prince as soon as I finish this review.

I received an advance e-copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest and fair review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Spoiler Alert: May give clues on how the story plays out so read at your own risk!

We’re all just people, and everyone has an agenda, whether they admit it or not. That makes people with power dangerous, and that’s not what I want to be.

It would have been so neat, but life was never like that, was it? Live was always messy.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that our kind would be your savior.

You’re the person who taught me how much more fun everything is when you share it. You’re fierce, and adventurous, and a little bit terrifying when you’re angry, and that was all before you turned into a crossbow-shooting, knife-wielding maniac.

Wonderfully Written and Absolutely Inspirational

Humanitarians, Visionaries, Heroes, and You by Mary Feliciani is a fantastic collection of short biographies of several remarkable people who have all made a difference in the world and inspired many others.

I really enjoyed reading this book and walked away feeling hopeful and motivated. It’s short, simple, and informative, but absolutely uplifting. I thought the writing style is effortless and meaningful. Feliciani has a wonderful way of evoking emotions and focusing on the positives. I liked being reminded about some of these amazing people and what they’ve done and also learning about new ones. My favorite part is reading the quotes and the author’s reflection.

I think this book is not only perfect for middle grade children, but also for adults and anyone feeling lost, confused, insecure or just need some kind of encouragement to get through a difficult day. It was an absolute joy to read and such a beautifully compelling book. I highly recommend it and think everyone will find something wonderful that can help them in one way or another.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
