SALLY’S SEARCH FOR EARTH ISN’T OFF TO A GOOD START: CHASED OUT OF HER HOTEL ROOM AND INTO THE BROOM CLOSET OF A SPACESHIP, SHE’S ACCIDENTALLY BECOME A STOWAWAY ON THE ALLIANCE FLAGSHIP, TRAVELER.
But when sabotage and murder show the crew’s true colors, Zander and Blayde are forced to stay and help them out of their mess. Lies, drama, and deceit lead them light years away to a mysterious planet on the edge of the galaxy, where the crew must band together just to stay alive. Which would be much easier if they didn’t have to deal with a diva first-mate, a droid with a religious obsession, and Blayde’s Ex whose brain is a spaceship.
Finding Earth has to be put on the back burner, as Sally’s stuck tending alien boo-boos – and she still has no idea what she’s doing. And she might live long enough to get off the planet in one piece.

reviewthoughts

I didn’t think it was possible to fall deeper in love with a series, but that’s exactly what happened with the Starstruck Saga. S.E. Anderson is simply brilliant and once again had me completely hooked from beginning to end.

Traveler, like its fantastically awesome predeceors, was a book I found to be extremely difficult to put down, but at the same time never wanted to finish. I’ve been in love with Anderson’s creative world building and writing style and I can honestly say that her stories just keep getting better and better. This book was such a blast to experience. I mean that by the way — cause you’re not just reading when it comes to this series… you will FEEL like you’re actually part of the journey and kicking ass along with the characters!

There were so many things going on in this book that at times it felt really chaotic. But, it was without a doubt the BEST kind of chaos. Anderson never fails to surprise me and I always have such an incredibly awesome time reading her stories. Traveler definitely took the spunk, wit, and craziness on another level. There was never a single dull moment and I absolutely enjoyed never knowing exactly just where the story was going. It was satisfyingly fast-paced with plenty of action, jaw-dropping twist and turns, hilarious dialogue, sweet moments, and of course some insane intergallic fun as everything goes from bad to worse… Cause that’s just the way it is. Zander, Sally and Blayde always seem to fall into the best misfortunes in all of the galaxies. Which, if you ask me, is definitely not a bad thing. I really loved being able to spend time with my favorite space squad. Oh and I also liked that there was a little bit more romance. There were some kissing, touching and swoony scenes. Even if it wasn’t what I expected, I thought it was still cute. Not going to say anymore and ruin the fun for you, but if you’ve read Starstruck and Alienation, then just be preprared for whatever comes. In this series, anything is a possibility…literally ANYTHING.

The characters were just as great and even more lovable. It was really nice to see Sally grow into a badass heroine. Not that she wasn’t before, but she definitely stepped up. She was fierce, driven, and still as adorable as ever. Blayde was sassy like always. She did take a little backseat in this one, but I liked that Anderson gave a little glimpse at her sensitive and sweet side. Zander… well he’s Zander. Always charming, a little mysterious, and forever protecting and looking out for Sally. The new additions were pretty awesome too. Nim was interesting and I can’t wait to see more of him. BUT, it was Two who stole a piece of my heart. Two made me laugh so many times and I enjoyed every scenes with him.

This book is hands down my favorite so far. Not only was it insanely fun, but every aspect of this book was flawlessly structured, breathtaking and left me wanting more. I traveled to fascinating destinations, met new characters that were quirky and fun, and saw the awesome trio take on the universe once again. But what I loved most about Traveler was how admist all the chaos, mishaps, twists and turns, Anderson managed to incorporate some real life issues… Issues that are actually very present right now in the real world. I really love books that not only entertain, but also inspire me to think about what’s truly important in life.

With an amazingly evocative and vivid writing style, chock full of humor, a thrilling storyline, quirky and multidimensional characters, and new adventures, Traveler is such a delightful read. I smiled, I laughed, and had the most wonderful and hilariously fun space travel experience. I definiely cannot wait where Sally, Zander, and Blayde will jump to next. Will they land at the wrong place at the wrong time again… or are they actually jumping to places they’re destined to be… Who knows?

Current Status: Impatiently waiting for Book 4. Anderson, is it possible to time travel a few months into the future so I can find out what happens next?

Huge thanks to S.E. Anderson and Bolide Publishing for sending me a copy of this book.

All thoughts and opinions are my own. And if you ask me, I definitely think you should start this series right now.

S.E. Anderson can’t ever tell you where she’s from. Not because she doesn’t want to, but because it inevitably leads to a confusing conversation where she goes over where she was born (England) where she grew up (France) and where her family is from (USA) and it tends to make things very complicated.

She’s lived pretty much her entire life in the South of France, except for a brief stint where she moved to Washington DC, or the eighty years she spent as a queen of Narnia before coming back home five minutes after she had left. Currently, she goes to university in Marseille, where she’s starting her masters of Astrophysics.

When she’s not writing, or trying to science, she’s either reading, designing, crafting, or attempting to speak with various woodland creatures in an attempt to get them to do household chores for her.  She could also be gaming, or pretending she’s not watching anything on Netflix.

3.75 ★ –   DELIGHTFULLY CUTE, FUN, AND ADORABLE

With realistic situations that will take you down memory lane, diverse characters you can’t help but love, and adorable friendships that will make your heart melt, A PROM TO REMEMBER was a pleasantly entertaining read.

This book was delightfully cute, fun and made me smile… but I do have to mention that I had a difficult time keeping track of the characters in the beginning. I actually almost wanted to DNF at one point, but I decided against it since the characters were really interesting. There were just way too many POVs for my liking or what I’m used to. The plot also moved pretty fast, so I hard trouble remembering who was who, who liked who, who was best friends with who, and so on. It definitely took some time to get used to the multiple POVs, but I did get there. Once I was able to remember the characters and make connections, I found myself enjoying the story more.

The characters were all AWESOME in their own ways and I absolutely adored them. I found it quite easy to relate with them and what they were going through. I even saw bits and pieces of teenage me in most of them. They were charming, quirky, driven, realistic, and so darn lovable! They did make some mistakes here and there — they’re teenagers after all… BUT there was something so real and genuine in this crazy fun group of high school seniors that I just couldn’t help but root for them. My favorites were definitely Paisley and Henry. I loved their playful bantering and their frienship was totally cute and heartwarming. I really liked how they challenged and supported each other. They were #bestfriendsgoals and I couldn’t get enough. Of course the others were really great too — Lizzie, Jacinta, Cora, Otis, Cameron, Luke, Madison and yes even the other side characters who seemed annoying at first.

This book wasn’t heavily focused on romance, but don’t worry… there were plenty of swoony and sweet moments between the couples. There may be even one or two romantic grand gestures that will totally make you aww. Honestly though, the different and amazing relationships were what really made this a wonderfully entertaining story. The romance was just a delicious added bonus and I’m certainly glad for it!

Overall, A PROM TO REMEMBER by Sandy Hall was a quick, fluffy, and cute read. I did have a minor issue with the multiple POVs, but I still had a great time reading this book. I really liked the fun friendships, charming characters, cute couples, diverse representation and lighthearted teen drama. The story also wrapped up in an adorable, sweet and memorable way that made my heart full of happy. So, if you’re looking for everything I just described in my review, then take a risk and add this on your TBR.

I received an advance reader copy of this book from Xpressobooktours and Swoon Reads via Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
