Discover the spellbinding sequel to Coral & Bone…

A demented twin sister, a demon hijacking her powers, and a mysterious journal filled with more questions than answers—Halen needs her Guardian Dax more than ever. But if she confides in Dax, she fears he will never forgive her, not after all he sacrificed to help her vanquish Asair. Halen drowned Asair in a tornado of wings—at least, she thought she killed him. Why then does his mocking voice snake through her thoughts, enticing her to surrender her power? Maybe she screwed up—big time—but she will never allow Asair to control her magick. And when Etils’ fires threaten the Earth, suspicions surrounding Asair’s death rise, igniting restlessness within the realms. Her life in balance, Halen must race time, purge the demon’s soul before flames consume the Earth or the Tari strike first.

5 ★ –   EXCEPTIONALLY DAZZLING FROM START TO FINISH

Curses and Ash is even more enthralling than the first book. With magical creatures, edge of your seat action, secrets and betrayal that will break your heart, and danger lurking at every corner, this spellbinding adventure had me holding my breath until the end.

There’s no denying that I’m in love with this enchanting world. Duane beautifully created a wonderful and enticing story that I never want to end. There was so much excitement, heartbreak, tension, and insanely good twists and turns. My mind was a jumbled mess, and I didn’t know who was telling the truth or which way the story was going to go. There was never a boring moment for me and I absolutely loved not knowing what would happen next. And that ending… after that I just could not breathe! My emotions were all over the place and I couldn’t stop being anxious — so much so that I  purchased the ebook for Smoke and Ruin as soon as I got home from work and read the first two chapters. Good thing I took a vacation day tomorrow (3/2) cause I’ll be staying up tonight (3/1) and reading Smoke and Ruin! I may even have finished by the time this review goes live).

The characters were fantastic and grew so much from the time they were introduced. Halen became quite powerful and more resilient. Even though she still wasn’t sure about her destiny, Halen was able to stand her ground and became the kind of heroine that I admire. Dax was more mysterious and a bit harsh sometimes that I don’t know how I feel about him now. Tage and Ezra made me laugh and cry. I have a soft spot for those two and rooted for them so hard. Asair was a fun complication that I couldn’t resist and I enjoyed getting to know him more. I also loved his interactions with Halen. And Natalie… well she’s totally badass in her own ways. I don’t want to say too much, but there were so many secrets about the characters that added more conflict and drama to the story and I LOVED IT! I may have had a change of heart a few times, but I definitely enjoyed all the surprises.

Tiffany Duane’s wicked imagination and gorgeous writing had me completely mesmerized. It’s exceptionally breathtaking, incredibly unique, and emotionally draining. Curses and Ash had everything that I love about fantasy books – fascinating creatures, fast-paced action, complicated relationships, exhilarating drama, complex characters, and unexpected twists. I really don’t want to leave this magical place just yet, but I’m also very excited to find out how it all ends.

If you’re looking for a series that will have you turning page after page, then add this to your TBR or even better… just pick up Coral and Bone and get started! I don’t know about you, but I’ll be curled up in bed with my Kindle and spending the night with Smoke and Ruin. I just hope my heart will still be in one piece when it’s all over.

I received a copy of this book through Xpressobooktours in exchange for a fair and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

February Wrap-Up

wrapup

Hello beautiful book lovers! I hope you all had a wonderful reading month. As for me, I still didn’t get to read as much as I wanted and I’m now 4 books behind my Goodreads challenge. BUT, I really enjoyed all the books I read and that’s what really matters to me. I actually did a little better in February than I did last month and managed to finish reading 8 books. I know I have a long way to go and I really need to work on my Netgalley feedback ratio, but I have a good feeling about March. Anyway, how about we take a look at all the books I read this month.

Remember to click the book titles to read my reviews and view the posts.

Collide by Nicole Sobon

3.75 – 4 ★ – SHORT AND SWOONY

Collide by Nicole Sobon is a short, but heartwarming and swoony friends to lovers story. A delightful guilty pleasure read perfect for romance lovers.

Breaking the Ice by Julie Cross

I really enjoyed Breaking the Ice! It’s the first book I read from Julie Cross and I’m definitely excited to check out her other books. This one was hilarious, sweet, and so adorable! My review for this book should be posted in a few days.

Blood Type by K.A. Linde

5 ★ – Dangerously Fun, Pleasantly Tantalizing, and So Deliciously Sexy

bloodtype

I absolutely loved this book! So glad I opened the email from Netgalley during Valentine’s Day Week. Damn you Netgalley… I’m trying to stay away, but you keep luring me back. I really didn’t want to request anymore books and I was doing pretty well…. BUT, that cover was too tempting and I could not resist. (After that day, I just went downhill and requested for all these other books on Netgalley and download a lot of free books from Bookbub…I seriously have a book addiction problem LOL). Anyway, as I was saying, I really LOVED everything about Blood Type! I was extremely enamored by the world building and storyline that I found it almost impossible to put the book down. It’s dark, mysterious, and quite terrifying at times, but incredibly fascinating. It’s so damn good and that insane cliffhanger will have you craving for another bite!  My review will be posted closer to the release date. If you’re a Netgalley member and fans for vampire books, then I highly suggest you request this now!

Mercury Rises by Scarlett Kol

Coral and Bone by Tiffany Duane

4 ★ –   POSITIVELY MESMERIZING AND ENTERTAINING

coralandbone

I’m really impressed with Tiffany Duane’s gorgeous and enthralling novel. Coral and Bone had fun surprises, heartbreaking moments and mind-blowing twists and turns that had me completely glued to the pages. If you’re looking for a fast-paced, engaging, and creative YA fantasy story, then definitely add this on your TBR. I’m actually reading the last book, Smoke and Ruin, right now and I just know I’m going to be really sad when it’s all over. I love being in Duane’s magical world and will miss everyone. Don’t forget to check out my Blog Tour stop and review tomorrow for the second book, Curses and Ash.
