Goodreads Monday

goodreadsmondays

Hello lovely bookish friends!! Time for another Goodreads Monday which is a weekly meme by Lauren’s Page Turners’ blog!

To participate, just choose a random book from your Goodreads TBR and show it off. For this meme, I’ll be focusing on a random book that I don’t own (hardcopy or ebooks) on my Goodreads “want-to-read” page.

Twenty-four-year-old truck stop waitress and single mother Catherine Wright has simple goals: to give her five-year-old daughter a happy life and to never again be the talk of the town in Balsam, Pennsylvania: population two thousand outside of tourist season.

And then one foggy night, on a lonely road back from another failed attempt at a relationship, Catherine saves a man’s life. It isn’t until after the police have arrived that Catherine realizes exactly who it is she has saved: Brett Madden, hockey icon and media darling.

Catherine has already had her fifteen minutes of fame and the last thing she wants is to have her past dragged back into the spotlight, only this time on a national stage. So she hides her identity. It works.

For a time.

But when she finds the man she saved standing on her doorstep, desperate to thank her, all that changes. What begins as an immediate friendship quickly turns into something neither of them expected. Something that Catherine isn’t sure she can handle; something that Catherine is afraid to trust.

Because how long can an extraordinary man like Brett be interested in an ordinary woman like Catherine…before the spark fades?

Here’s another book by K.A. Tucker that I added on my Goodreads TBR a while ago. The synopsis really sounds intriguing and I obviously had planned on reading, but still haven’t. Hopefully, I’ll get to it this year.

Have you read this book? Did you love it or hate it? Let me know in the comments!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Hello Loves and welcome to another segment of Swoony Saturdates! I absolutely CANNOT wait to gush about this particular book boyfriend. He’s so damn hot and deliciously alluring!!!!

Swoony Saturdates is a weekly segment where I’ll feature one of my favorite book boyfriends and explain some reasons why I think he’s utterly and undeniably swoon-worthy. And just for fun, I’ll occasionally describe an ideal date with the book boyfriend I choose. If you’d like to join me, feel free to do so and leave your links in the comments so everyone can check out your picks. Oh and it’s definitely not limited to just book boyfriends…you can totally pick book girlfriends too! Don’t forget to link back to me so I can see your posts!

Let’s go on a Swoony Saturdate with

aaronwarner

(Googling Aaron Warner and I stumbled upon this Yumminess. I don’t know who this guy is, but he is HOT and looks so much like the Warner I imagine. So thank you to whoever chose this photo.)

Reasons Why Aaron Warner is Deliciously and Outrageously Swoon-Worthy

He’s complex and broken, but definitely beautiful in so many ways. When you first meet him, Warner is absolutely cruel, incredibly manipulative, and extremely possessive of Juliette. He kills, hurts, and lies. He’s the meanest, baddest, biggest jerk you’ve ever met. BUTTTTTTT there’s something about him that just entices and you want to find out more about him. As you keep reading, you get a glimpse of his softer side whenever he’s interacting with Juliette. AND…. I don’t want to ruin it for you, but damn… he turns out to be this really amazing guy and I can’t even. He’s just beautiful!

“He’s breathing like he’s lost his mind and he’s looking at me like something has broken inside of him, like he’s woken up to find that his nightmares were just that, that they never existed, that it was all just a bad dream that felt far too real but now he’s awake and he’s safe and everything is going to be okay and
I’m falling.
I’m falling apart and into his heart and I’m a disaster.”

He LOVES with all his heart and soul. Warner has been burned and hurt in the past so he’s very guarded with his heart. He’s terrified to trust, love, and feel any emotions. BUT, when he falls for Juliette, he goes all in and doesn’t ever hold anything back. His love is so intense you can feel everything his going through. He loves so passionately that I cannot get enough of him. And the more you know about him, the more you just fall in love with him.

I can’t understand why I can still hear him speaking because I’m dead, I’m already dead, I’ve died over and over and over again.
He swallows, hard, his chest heaving, his words a breathless, shaky whisper when he says “I’m so-I’m so desperately in love with you-”

“He’s looking so deeply into my eyes that I’m surprised I haven’t buckled under the intensity and I realize then, right in this moment I realize that everything about him is intense. Nothing about him is manageable or easy to compartmentalize. He’s too much. Everything about him is too much. His emotions, his actions, his anger, his aggression. His love.”

He cares deeply and will do anything to protect the people he loves.

He believes in Juliette and encourages her to just be herself.

“Warner thinks I’m strong and smart and capable and he actually values my opinion. He makes me feel like his equal–like I can accomplish just as much as he can, and more. And if I do something incredible, he’s not even surprised. He expects it. He doesn’t treat me like I’m some fragile little girl who needs to be protected all the time.”

He’s actually silly and pretty funny too. Oh and his love for fashion is just too endearing.

“Aaron Warner Anderson, chief commander and regent of Sector 45, son of the supreme commander of The Reestablishment.

He has a soft spot for fashion.”

AND he’s handsome, charming, kind, sweet, and perfect… He’s just the most imperfect perfect book boyfriend ever for all the reasons I’ve mentioned and so many more. IYou need to read this series and just know him for yourself.

“I promise myself then, in that moment, that I will hold him forever, just like this, until all the pain and torture and suffering is gone, until he’s given a chance to live the kind of life where no one can wound him this deeply ever again.”
