Bookish Naughty or Nice Tag

bookishnaughtyornic

Hello again my bookish friends! I saw this book tag from Kris at Bostonbookreader and thought — it’s short and looks fun, so why not do it. Not like I don’t have a ton of reading to do, or reviews to finish… Anway, let’s get to it!

The creator of this tag is Jenn, and you should totally check out her post and lovely blog HERE.

RULES:

  • Credit the person who tagged you and link their post
  • Tag the original creator and their post
  • Tick the ones you’ve done (BOLDED)
  • Cross the ones you haven’t (ITALICIZED)
  • Tag more bloggers

QUESTIONS:

1.) Received an ARC and not reviewed it. — I may be extremely behind, but I always review ARCs when I receive them for that purpose. The ones I get from giveaways or book festivals … I may or may not review them, but I’ll definitely and eventually read them.

2.) Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley. — And I just requested and got approved for more… I’m now down to 47%.

3.) Rated a book on GoodReads and promised a full review was to come on your blog. Since I started my blog May 2017.. I would have to say no. I’ve been really good at adding my reviews even if it’s really late

4.) Folded down the page of a book  — NEVER!

5.) Accidentally spilled on a book. — Also, NEVER. I don’t put my drinks any where near my books for this reason.

6.) DNF a book this year — So far this year, NOPE.

7.) Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it?  Of course! I love pretty book covers so I probably have a few of these.

8.) Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework) All the time!

9.) Skim read a book — Not the whole book, but I have skim read a chapter or two… then I ended up going back and rereading haha.

10.) Completely missed your GoodReads goal  Guilty! I always start with a big goal and about half way through the year when I’m a bit behind, I lower it down.  Last year, I had originally planned on reading 100 and then changed it to 80. Just so much other stuff happened that I didn’t have enough reading time.

11.) Borrowed a book and not returned it. Does it count if I didn’t want to borrow it, but my friend wanted me to read it?!? Cause she lent me her book in high school and I told her I would read it eventually… Well we went off to college, started adulting, and I still have not read that book. I don’t even know where it is.

12.) Broke a book buying ban  All THE TIME!!! I don’t even know why I torture myself. It never works haha.

13.) Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about — Maybe a few weeks and even a month, but not forever. I have a basic draft and some notes on what I want in my review and then I edit until I like the way it sounds.

14.) Wrote in a book you were reading — Yes.. but not since high school. Part of my homework for English class was to analyze and annotate the books we were reading. It was actually fun.

15.) Finished a book and not added it to your GoodReads — I may forget for a few days or so, but I eventually add them.

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN!!!

Have fun!

“I Dare You” Book Tag

idareyoubooktag

I know it’s been months since Michelle from Firstbooklove tagged for this, but better late than never. Oh and don’t forget to check out her wonderful blog and show her some love! She’s definitely one of my fave book bloggers.

RULES:

  • You must be honest
  • You must answer all of the questions
  • You must tag at least 4 people

1 – WHAT BOOK HAS BEEN ON YOUR SHELF THE LONGEST?

Not counting the books I was required to read for school, I would say it’s The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. It would have been one of the Chicken Soup books for teens, but I gave those away already. After that, probably my copy of the Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot book 1 and 2, but I gave those away too because they kind of smelled funky and looked all worn out from being in storage. I do intend on buying the books again, reread them, and finally finish the series.

2 – WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT READ, YOUR LAST READ, AND THE BOOK YOU’LL READ NEXT?

Been going through a rather stressful and upsetting several days at work, so I am still reading Pen and Xander by Laekan Zea Kemp (I’m ALMOST  done though — maybe another 20 mins). I stopped reading The Key of Everything by Paula Stokes because I really want to enjoy that story and at the moment my mind is just not into it. I honestly don’t know what book I’ll be reading next, but I have a few blog tours lined up so it would definitely be one of those books. My last read was a novella, Collide by Nicole Sobon. It took me about an hour or so to finish and I enjoyed it.

3 – WHAT BOOK DID EVERYONE LIKE, BUT YOU HATED?

I rarely ever hate a book, but the last one I remember not really liking was A Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller. Not sure if everyone likes it, but I definitely saw plenty of people who does.

4 – WHAT BOOK DO YOU KEEP TELLING YOURSELF YOU’LL READ, BUT YOU PROBABLY WON’T?

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. I have the book and I really wanted to read it before the movie came out…but I just don’t want to read a sad book right now. I actually do like it when books give me all the FEELS and make me cry… but this one just seems too depressing for me.

5 – WHAT BOOK ARE YOU SAVING FOR YOUR RETIREMENT?

I guess whatever I have left on my TBR. Knowing myself, I’ll still have hundreds left to read.

6 – LAST PAGE – READ IT FIRST OR WAIT TIL’ THE END?

I’ve never understood why anyone would read the very last page. I’m sure it still doesn’t give away much, but I love being able to experience the story not knowing how it’ll end.

7 – ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: WASTE OF PAPER AND INK, OR INTERESTING ASIDE?

I don’t read it all the time, but I think it’s definitely interesting. I also think it’s awesome that authors thank their readers, reviewers, and bloggers.

8 – WHICH BOOK CHARACTER WOULD YOU SWITCH PLACES WITH?

Pretty much every single kick ass lead. It also depends on my mood — right now I’d do anything to trade places with Hermione.

9 – DO YOU HAVE A BOOK THAT REMINDS YOU OF SOMETHING SPECIFIC IN YOUR LIFE? (PLACE, TIME, PERSON?)

Dear John by Nicholas Sparks reminds me of an ex-boyfriend.

dearjohn

10 – NAME A BOOK THAT YOU ACQUIRED IN AN INTERESTING WAY

I got nothing… I don’t think I’ve had a book acquired in an interesting way. I usually buy my books, get them from giveaways or authors, or from book festivals.

11 – HAVE YOU EVER GIVEN A BOOK AWAY FOR A SPECIAL REASON TO A SPECIAL PERSON?

I let an ex-boyfriend borrow and hold on to my copy of A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. I guess in some way I gave it to him…but I really wanted it back when we broke up.

12 – WHICH BOOK HAS BEEN WITH YOU MOST PLACES?

I don’t really bring my books to different places because I’m always afraid I’d damage or lose it. If I really love a book, I would just buy an ebook version, so I can always read it whenever. But before ebooks, I definitely brought The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks with me whenever I moved.

13 – ANY “REQUIRED READING” YOU HATED IN HIGH SCHOOL THAT WASN’T SO BAD TWO YEARS LATER?

I’ve never reread anything I read in high school. I have a few faves and I didn’t necessarily hate any books… so I’m just going to go with The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn because I was so bored with that book. That being said, I think I just didn’t give it a chance back then. Maybe if I reread it 2 years later I would have enjoyed it a bit more.

14 – USED OR BRAND NEW?

Love brand new books. But if I can get used books at a cheaper price and the books are in good condition, I’m totally fine with that.

15 – HAVE YOU EVER READ A DAN BROWN BOOK?

Nope… and I don’t think I ever will.

16 – HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A MOVIE THAT YOU LIKED MORE THAN THE BOOK?

I don’t think so. I LOVE the HP movies, but I haven’t finished the series yet.

17 – HAVE YOU EVER READ A BOOK THAT’S MADE YOU HUNGRY, COOKBOOKS INCLUDED?

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han and Wait for You by JLA. I love cakes and cookies and sweets… Pretty much any dessert.

18 – WHO IS THE PERSON WHOS BOOK ADVICE YOU’LL ALWAYS TAKE?

I’d go with the same answer as Michelle and say ME! I’m absolutely open to other people’s advice and recommendations, but I definitely know what I love to read.

19 – IS THERE A BOOK OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE (OUTSIDE OF YOUR USUAL READING GENRE) THAT YOU ENDED UP LOVING?

I’ve never been fond of thrillers or mysteries, but after reading Vicarious by Paula Stokes, I’m more open minded about them.
