The Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you and add a link to their blog
  • Answer the ten questions asked on this post
  • Nominate at least five people to do it also

Top 3 Book Pet Hates – I’d have to agree with Katie @NeverNotReading. I really don’t like it when they change book covers in the middle of the series. Even if the new covers are gorgeous… it just annoys me so much because then I’d have to buy the new ones, so that all my books will match (I hate it when my books don’t!). Speaking of covers, I dislike CoverPornBooks with a passion. I do judge a book by it’s cover, but hate it when the books have such mesmerizing and creative covers, but the story is far from being beautiful or great… Just no!! It also really bothers me when a book starts out really strong and get me so excited and intrigued and then just go downhill to blahhhhhh… That’s the worst betrayal of all.

Perfect Reading Spot – I pretty much read anywhere because I like using any free time I have to catch up on my TBR. (You all know how behind I am)  At my desk if I need to take a little break from work or if it’s slow, in the car/Uber, at restaurants while waiting for food, in the train, in the bathroom, while waiting in line at theme parks… BUT my perfect reading spot will always be on my bed, with a cozy blanket, scented candles, and a hot cup of tea or coffee.

3 Book Confessions – I own more books (physical and ebooks) than books I’ve read. If I LOVE a book A LOT, then I’ll buy multiple copies/editions of that book. I still haven’t finished reading Harry Potter! (I read the first book in college, but never got to the others. I do have all the books, love the movies and buy HP merchandise so one of these days, I’ll just marathon the entire series).

Last Time You Cried Reading a Book – Last time would be when I read A Short History of the Girl Next Door by Jared Reck. I just didn’t expect the plot twist and my heart broke into pieces. I literally had to stop reading a few times cause I was crying so much.

Number of Books on Your Bedside Table– I don’t really have a bedside table. I do have a small headboard bookcase. I think there’s about 10-15 books on it.

Favorite Reading Snack – If I’m craving something sweet, then definitely Chocolate Orange Milano Cookies or soft-baked chocolate chip cookies. If I’m craving something salty, then Kettle cooked Salt and Vinegar chips or regular Lays potato Chips.

3 Books You’d Recommend to Anyone – Definitely the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, the Doon Series by Lorie Langdon and Carey Corp, and The Young Elites Series by Marie Lu.

A Picture of Your Favorite Bookshelf  –  Since my bookshelves look like a mess right now, here’s the last picture I took (on one side of my room) a few months ago. It hasn’t been this organized in a long time.

How Much Books Mean To You (in 3 words) – Books are MAGIC

Biggest Reading Secret – I really don’t like lending my books to ANYONE because I get so anxious and scared that my book will get dirty, damaged or worse. BUT I do let friends borrow… it just pains me a little bit… okay a lot actually. I just don’t like being separated from my loves.

I am Drowning in My TBR Pile Book Tag

Hello everyone! I still have a lot of reviews to finish, but I thought it’d be nice to take a break from Book Blitz, Cover Reveals, and Book Spotlights. I saw this post on @therevenantreader about a month ago and it’s been sitting in my draft since then. Well, I decided I would finally work on it since I AM ABSOLUTELY AND TERRIBLY DROWNING IN MY TBR PILE…

How do you keep track of your TBR pile? I simply add books to my Goodreads account whenever I see something I’m interested in reading.

Is your TBR mostly print or eBooks?
I would say mostly print books, but lately my ebook pile has been growing since I’ve started reviewing books.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
As of right now, I’m really trying to read as many books as I can that I have for reviews. I requested quite a lot when I first signed up for Netgalley thinking I wouldn’t get approved, but I did and kept requesting… I had a requesting addiction… well I still kind of do. I haven’t requested in a while though, but the temptation is always there.

I’m also a mood reader and would pick up books that I just feel like reading. During Spring and Summer I tend to read more YA contemporary romance, while during Fall and Winder I tend to read Fantasy, Sci-fi and other genre(s).

A book that’s been on your TBR the longest? cityoffallenangels

City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare. Okay, so I think I made it halfway through this one, but got either super busy or distracted that I had to stop. Then other things came up and I just haven’t had the interest to go back to it. And when Shadowhunters started, as cheesy as it is, I really enjoy watching it that I would rather just do that and read something else. I do really love the Mortal Instruments series and I have all the books and preorder the new ones every single time. I just really need to be in the mood to read this series and that hasn’t happened in a while.

fromtwinkleA book that you recently added to your TBR?

From Twinkle, with Love by Sandhya Menon. I loveeee When Dimple Met Rishi (Review Here) and absolutely adore Menon’s writing, so when I saw the cover reveal for this book, I obviously had to add it to my TBR. It’s not going to be available until June of next year, but it’s definitely high on my most anticipated reads in 2018.

A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?restore me

Okay so even if this on is one my TBR because I love the cover, I actually do really want to read it. Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi is another one of my most anticipated reads in 2018. I love the Shatter Me series and was super excited when Mafi announced she’s going to write three more books. And this cover is just mesmerizing and so gorgeous and I can’t wait to buy it when it comes out.

the fault in our starsA book on your TBR that you never plan on actually reading?

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I bought the book years ago,  saw the movie and loved it. However, I have never once even attempted to pick this up. I know there was a huge hype for it before the movie and a lot of people raved about how amazing it is. I guess I wanted to know what it was all about, so I bought the book. But for someone reason, I just didn’t get to read it. I don’t know if I’ll ever pick it up. I just have so many books I’m more interested in right now.

lovelifelistAn unpublished book on your TBR that you are excited for?

I love Kasie West, so I’m always on the lookout for whatever she’s working on. I’m really excited for Love, Life and the List. Sounds like it’s going to be another fun, cute and adorable romance.

A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read except you?

throneofglassThrone of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I feel like everyone has read Maas books and loves them. I actually have 5 books in this series and I have every intention of reading all of them. I think I’m just waiting for the series to finish so I can do a reading marathon. As much as I love rereading, I just can’t do it for every single series cause I don’t have time… Hence the reason why I’m drowning in my TBR.

A book on your TBR that basically everyone recommends to you?courtofthorns

I’m picking another Sarah J. Maas books because almost everyone I know loves her series. A Court of Thorns and Roses  has been recommended to me multiple times and I’ve been really interested in starting it already. BUTTTTTT… it’s a big book compared to others and I feel like it’s one of those series that I just need to binge.

chasingredA book on your TBR that you are just dying to read?

Chasing Red by Isabelle Ronin. I’ve heard really great things about this book, so I’ve been super excited to read it for a long while now. The only reason why I haven’t started is because I’m trying to catch up on my Netgalley TBR. Well, I was just recently approved for Always Red on Netgalley, so this just got bumped up on my TBR.

The number of books on your Goodreads TBR shelf?
I’ve been a member since 2016 and have exactly 777 books on my TBR at this moment. That’s probably going to change by the end of the week since I’m constantly adding more books to read, but at least it isn’t over 1,000 yet.
