Tackling my Netgalley TBR

netgalleytbrpic

I started this blog May 2017 and with that came my obsession with requesting books on Netgalley. At first, I wasn’t sure I would get approved for a lot of books since I was a newbie. Almost every day, I was on Netgalley browsing and requesting for books I thought I would enjoy reading. I knew I wouldn’t be approved right away for a lot of the books I wanted, but to my surprise, I actually did. I mean there were still plenty of declines, but I got approved for more books than I had expected. I tried to keep up with my Netgalley TBR, but by the end of 2017, I had 32 on my list with 28 of them being there for more than 3 months. Shame on me!

This year, one of my main bookish resolution is to tackle as many books as I can on my Netgalley TBR. I’ll update you on my progress every month and hopefully by mid-2018, I can get through all the books I requested in 2017. I’m also planning on putting a strict limitation for myself. This is going to be really difficult, but for every 3 books I finish, I’m only allowed to request 1 book.

Anyway, here’s a list of all the Netgalley Books I have yet to read.

  1. The Booke of Whispers by Kimberley Starr (Started this one, but I couldn’t get into it. Probably read 2 chapters only)
  2. Odd and True by Cat Winters (I actually started this one too and it seemed really interesting, but after several chapters I lost interest).
  3. Rosemarked by Livia Blackburne
  4. Nyxia by Scott Reintgen
  5. Love Songs and Other Lies by Jessica Pennington
  6. Booke of Hidden by Jeri Westerson
  7. All the Wrong Chords by Christine Hurley Deriso
  8. Gray Wolf Island Tracey Neithercott
  9. The Canary Club by Sherry D. Ficklin
  10. Berseker by Emmy Laybourne
  11. Nemesis by Anna Banks
  12. The Breathless by Tara Goedjen
  13. A Poison Dark and Drowning by Jessica Cluess
  14. 36 Questions that Changed My Mind About You by Vicki Grant
  15. Wild Beauty by Anna-Marie McLemore
  16. Just Friends by Dyan Sheldon
  17. The Midnight Dance by Nikki Katz
  18. Playing by Heart by Carmela Martino
  19. All the Wind in the World by Samantha Mabry
  20. A Taxonomy of Love by Rachael Allen
  21. The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden
  22. My New Crush Gave to Me by Shani Petroff
  23. Plague Land by Alex Scarrow
  24. Stronger by Janey Nissenson
  25. Pumpkin Spice Secrets by Hillary Homzie (I’m almost done with this one, but for some reason, the story just doesn’t intrigue me. It’s a middle grade romance and it’s cute, but the story isn’t that interesting for me).
  26. Kiss Me in New York by Catherine Rider
  27. Fraternize by Rachel Van Dylen
  28. Run Away With Me by Mila Gray
  29. Always Red by Isabelle Ronin
  30. Flight Season by Marie Marquardt
  31. The Chaos of Standing Still by Jessica Brody
  32. Breaking the Ice by Julie Cross

Have you read any of these books? What did you think? Let me know in the comments.

Sincerely Karen Jo

The Netgalley Tag

netgalleytag

Hello lovelies! So I’m slowly catching up with my Netgalley TBR, but I’m still quite behind. I probably should focus on finishing some of my reviews, but I’m just not in the mood. Been browsing blogs and then I saw The Netgalley Tag over at Danielle’s blog, theintrovertedbooknerd. Maybe the universe is telling me something or whatever. Anyway, I wasn’t tagged to do this, but it looked fun so I thought I’d give it a try.

RULES

  1. Link back to the tag’s creator: Kourtni at Kourtni Reads.
  2. Thank and link back to the person who tagged you.
  3. Answer the questions the best you can. If you don’t use NetGalley, you can substitute other sites or places where you get books!
  4. Tag a few people to do this too!

AUTO-APPROVED:

Who’s one author whose books you automatically want to read, regardless of what they are about?

I actually have a few, but anything by Kasie West. I love all her books so every time I see a new book being released, I don’t even read the synopsis anymore…I just add it on my TBR/wishlist.

REQUEST:

What makes you want to request a book on NetGalley?

Definitely the synopsis. If it’s something I think I would enjoy, then I request.

FEEDBACK RATIO:

Do you review every book you read? If not, how do you decide what books to review?

Yes I do review every book I read. I’m kind of behind right now, but I’m slowly making progress.

BADGES:

If you could create one badge to display on your blog, what would it be for?

Totally stealing Danielle’s idea and go with Most Requested Galleys. There are just so many books I want to read and every time I see a book that looks interesting, I just request without thinking about the ones that’s been in my dashboard for more than 2 months…What can I say, I’m a request-addict!

WISH FOR IT:

What’s one book that you are absolutely dying to read?

Renegades by Marissa Meyer! I doubt I’ll get approved since I’m pretty behind and my ratio is only at 42% right now.

2017 NETGALLEY CHALLENGE:

What was the last book that you received as an ARC that you reviewed? If you’ve never received an ARC, what’s the last book you reviewed?

A Messy, Beautiful Life by Sara Jade Alan. I absolutely love that book. Check out my review HERE.
