Smokin’, Swoony, Sweet and a Satisfyingly Wonderful EndingĀ

reviewthoughts

Yup! No doubt about it. Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward are now two of my favorite new to me authors this year. This duet was smokin’, swoony, and sweet. Rebel Heart was such a satisfyingly wonderful ending that had me holding my breath the entire time.

I must have died a million times because the FEELS in this one got to me SOO BADDDD. With new twists and turns, drama and angst, and swoons and surprises, this book had me reeling in every way and clutching my heart. I experienced so many emotions throughout this story, heck the entire series, and felt so much for the characters. It was definitely an intense rollercoaster ride and when it was all over, I was sad, but also blissfully happy.

“Yes. I could never forget this man. Very striking. Dangerous looking with a heart of gold. Rush was his name.”

These characters seriously have pieces of my heart. Love Rush and Gia so damn much. Rush can be bossy, demanding, hot-headed, and slow to trust, but he’s also protective, fiercely loyal, thoughtful and adorably romantic. Gia’s the perfect mix of sassy and sweet, and I just loved her sense of humor, determination, and strength. They were really great together and their chemistry was intense, swoony and undeniable. Ward and Keeland put them through so much heartbreak and I really enjoyed their individual and romantic journey. Their relationship was not easy and both Rush and Gia had to brave through incredibly complicated situations. I wasn’t sure how things were going to end for them, but I finished their story with a huge smile on my face.

” No, babe, I didn’t lose. From now on, there is no more unfortunately in out story.”

Rebel Heart was the perfect conclusion to this breathtaking, funny, and beautiful love story. The pacing was effortless, the writing was absolutely charming and evocative, the side characters were fantastic, the family dynamics were interesting, the bantering was brilliantly done, and the romance was realistic and sweet. I smiled like a dork, laughed out loud a few times, swooned like crazy, and even shed some tears. Keeland and Ward definitely know the way to my heart and I cannot wait to read whatever they come up with next.

“To expect to be able to prove something a hundred percent is stupid. Even the smallest shred of doubt is still doubt. And it’s normal to have doubts, because there is always uncertainty in life. We live every day knowing that there’s a possibility we could die. Yet, we get up every day and do what we need to do anyway. Life shouldn’t be about constantly trying to prove that we’re safe from getting hurt. Life should be about living with uncertainty while we watch beautiful sunsets with the people we love.”

If you’re looking for a story that’s humorous, hot, and full of heart, then I HIGHLY recommend you add this series on your TBR.

I purchased an electronic copy of this book and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Be uncertain and live anyway. — In that moment, for the first time in a long time, I felt at peace. I gave up the fight to figure out tomorrow and chose to live for today.Ā

I really enjoyed the Rush Duet and will miss Rush and Gia so much.

From New York Times Bestselling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward, comes the first book in a new, sexy duet.

How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:

Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.

Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check.

How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:

Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.

Check. Check. Check.

I should add—especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed God of a boss.

Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.

Especially when he’s mean to you.

Or so I thought.

Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.

That was sort of how it all started with Rush.

And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.

I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.

I wasn’t supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.

As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting—and complicated.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

4.75 – The perfect summer read with all the imaginable FEELS

reviewthoughts

Gahhh so ridiculously swoony, romantic, and just awesome. Rush and Gia are so perfect together and I just cant… Rebel Heir completely stole my heart and I loved every moment.

Okay so I started reading this book as soon as it was released, but unfortunately I had to stop to take care of some personal stuff and mostly prepare for my mom’s 60th birthday. Fortunately, I was able to finally pick it up again Monday, July 16, and quickly found out that it was very difficult to put down. I wanted to keep reading and just spend time with Rush and Gia, but unfortunately, I was stuck at work. Fortunately, (and I love when this happens) work was really slow so I was able to finish. Yes, I pretended and took very long bathroom breaks and spent my entire lunch reading as much as I can. It was so worth it and I couldn’t wait to read Rebel Heart when I got home… and that’s exactly what I did. Suffice it to say that I undeniably and absolutely enjoyed everything about this achingly beautiful series… even the sad and ugly parts.

ā€œSweetheart, sometimes the risk of what bad things could happen keeps up from experiencing all the good things life has to offer.ā€

I’ve only read one other book by Vi Keeland, which I loved, and have several books by both Keeland and Ward on my Goodreads TBR. I’ve been meaning to binge their novels for a while, but it was Rebel Heir that really caught my attention. Totally the cover’s fault. It’s just so damn delicious, alluring and smoking hot that I just couldn’t resist!! Not to mention the synopsis sounds like oodles of fun. I mean who doesn’t love a tattooed, dark, and devastatingly handsome bad boy who’s actually an amazing, sweet, funny, and lovable guy?!?! I seriously have the biggest weakest for this trope and Rebel Heir exceeded my expectations. It was beautifully written, charmingly heartwarming, and so incredibly hilarious!

ā€œWhen you’re afraid to fall in love with someone, it’s usually because you’ve already started to fall. ā€œ

This book had me hooked. Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward’s writing style was witty, heartfelt, and addictive. I loved the angst, drama, humor, the unexpected twist that tore me to pieces, and of course the swimmingly adorable and steamy romance. Rush and Gia captured my heart and I rooted so hard for them. Their instant chemistry, playful bantering, and sexy moments made me smile and swoon the entire time. It was undoubtedly one of the most delicious, seductive, and deeply moving love stories I’ve ever read. My emotions were completely all over the place, going from extreme highs to the most painful lows, but every dialogue meant something and every moment hit all the right FEELS. LOVE LOVE LOVE this book so much!

I’m most definitely a big fan of Keeland and Ward now and cannot wait to read all their other books and collaborations. Rebel Heir was a fun, quirky, sweet, and amazingly heartfelt story. The perfect summer read with all the imaginable FEELS you won’t want to miss.

I purchased an electronic copy of this book and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

favequotesHere are some of my other favorite quotes from the book.Ā

ā€œIt’s like I want to protect you and corrupt you at the same time. It’s fucked-up.ā€

ā€œThey don’t compare to you. They’re fantasy. All the things that make them beautiful… the strength they seem to convey… that’s all brought to life whenever I look at you.ā€

ā€œBecause when you finally accept that you found the one, it’s terrifying that you might lose them and then there’d never be another.ā€

Well, I hope you enjoyed reading my review and get to meet Rush and Gia really soon.
