Goodreads Monday

goodreadsmondaysHello loves!! Time for another Goodreads Monday which is a weekly meme by Lauren’s Page Turners’ blog!

To participate, just choose a random book from your Goodreads TBR and show it off. For this meme, I’ll be focusing on a random book that I don’t own (hardcopy or ebooks) on my Goodreads “want-to-read” page.

Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic science-fiction series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck and her dad’s old costume, Elle’s determined to win – unless her stepsisters get there first.

Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons – before he was famous. Now they’re nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he has ever wanted, but Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake – until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise. But when she disappears at midnight, will he ever be able to find her again?

Part-romance, part-love letter to nerd culture, and all totally adorbs, Geekerella is a fairy tale for anyone who believes in the magic of fandom.

I’ve been really wanting to read this book for a long time. The synopsis sounds super cute, sweet and funny. I’m really hoping I can get to this soon.

Have you read this book? Did you love it or hate it? Let me know in the comments!

Have a lovely week everyone!

WHAT WOULD YOU SACRIFICE TO PROTECT THOSE YOU LOVE?

From the author of the dystopian thrill ride ABOVE THE SKY comes this heart-pounding sequel. It picks up just minutes after the conclusion of ABOVE THE SKY as eighteen-year-old Seven attempts to save those she loves, and herself, in a world full of secrets.

RETURN TO THE SKY is book two in a compelling new science fiction series that tells the story of young men and women coming of age in a post-apocalyptic future society founded on lies. Filled with exciting suspense, surprising twists, forbidden romance, imaginative adventure, and thought-provoking philosophy, the SKY series is perfect for teen and adult fans of THE HUNGER GAMES (by Suzanne Collins), DIVERGENT (by Veronica Roth), THE GENDER GAME (by Bella Forrest), SLAVE (by Laura Frances), CONFIGURED (by Jenetta Penner), THE MAZE RUNNER (by James Dashner), and THE GIVER (by Lois Lowry).

I read the first book, Above the Sky, and absolutely LOVED IT! I thought the author’s writing is exceptional – so incredibly imaginative, detailed, and deeply moving. I was utterly captivated by the storyline and characters that I didn’t want to stop reading. The plot was fast paced, full of action and suspense, and filled with twists and turns that left me wanting more. Now, I don’t really have a good excuse as to why I haven’t read Return to the Sky. Having a tower of TBR just waiting for me certainly doesn’t help. So… I know I won’t be getting to this for another month or two, BUT I’m definitely looking forward to binging this thrilling and emotional series.

If you’re fans of dystopian books and unbelievably amazing FEELS, then add this series to you TBR.
