Goodreads Monday

Gosh, it’s been such a long time since I did one of these. I probably added more than 100 books on my Goodreads TBR when I should really be trying to knock off the ones I know I’ll never ever read. Guess I’ll have to do that at some point, but for now I think I’ll just let it be.

Goodreads Monday, is a weekly meme by Lauren’s Page Turners’ blog.

To participate, just choose a random book from your Goodreads TBR and show it off. For this meme, I’ll be focusing on a random book that I don’t own (hardcopy or ebooks) on my Goodreads “want-to-read” page.

Mists of Avalon meets Philippa Gregory in the first book of an exciting historical trilogy that reveals the untold story of Languoreth—a powerful and, until now, tragically forgotten queen of sixth-century Scotland—twin sister of the man who inspired the legendary character of Merlin.

Intelligent, passionate, rebellious, and brave, Languoreth is the unforgettable heroine of The Lost Queen, a tale of conflicted loves and survival set against the cinematic backdrop of ancient Scotland, a magical land of myths and superstition inspired by the beauty of the natural world. One of the most powerful early medieval queens in British history, Languoreth ruled at a time of enormous disruption and bloodshed, when the burgeoning forces of Christianity threatened to obliterate the ancient pagan beliefs and change her way of life forever.

Together with her twin brother Lailoken, a warrior and druid known to history as Merlin, Languoreth is catapulted into a world of danger and violence. When a war brings the hero Emrys Pendragon, to their door, Languoreth collides with the handsome warrior Maelgwn. Their passionate connection is forged by enchantment, but Languoreth is promised in marriage to Rhydderch, son of the High King who is sympathetic to the followers of Christianity. As Rhydderch’s wife, Languoreth must assume her duty to fight for the preservation of the Old Way, her kingdom, and all she holds dear.

The Lost Queen brings this remarkable woman to life—rescuing her from obscurity, and reaffirming her place at the center of the most enduring legends of all time.

This book sounds awesomely thrilling and fun. I don’t remember how I found out about it, but I’ll read anything with magic, queens, warriros and Scotland. I have been in love with Scotland for a long time and it’s one of my top travel/dream destinations. One of these days I’ll make it there, but for now, I’m just going to have to visit Scotland through books.

Have any of you read this book/series? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below!

So, what’s on your Goodreads Monday this week?

WWW Wednesdays – August 14, 2018

wwwwednesdaynew

Hi Loves!!! Yup, it’s been just about a month since I did a WWW Wednesday post. I’ve been kind of jumping around and not really following my planned monthly TBR, but as long as I get some reading done, I guess that’s still a win right?!?!?

WWW Wednesday which is a weekly segment hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

Just answer these three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m slowly getting burned out, not from reading, but just starting to do a lot of things again and we are in the process of decluttering. I’m fighting to keep my lead on my Goodreads Challenge, but I’m still 1 book ahead and should be back to 2-3 books by the end of the week – woohoo!

So, since last week, I managed to finish four books – Courting Carlyn by Melissa Chambers, One Hundred Promises by Kelly Collins, The Gathering by Bernadette Giacomazzo and  Accidentally in Love with the Pilot by Teri Anne Stanley. You can click the titles to read my reviews for these book except for Accidentally which I’m currently working on and won’t be posted until later in the week.

I’m currently reading Surviving Adam Meade by Shannon Klare and so far, I’m enjoying it.

Next, I plan on rereading To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before  (before the movie),  P.S. I Still Love You and finally reading Always and Forever Lara Jean by Jenny Han. I’m hoping to finish rereading TATBILB before I watch the movie this Friday and binging the rest so I can finally say I finished the series. LOL.

I’m also planning on reading Blood Cure by K.A. Linde. I might add another one, but I’m still undecided. I’m not feeling fantasy or anything too heavy, so it’s probably going to be another light contemporary and most likely from my Netgalley TBR.

Well, that’s it for my WWW Wednesday.

What’s on your WWW Wednesday? Have you read any of these books? Leave your comments and links to your post so I can check it out!

Have a lovely day everyone!!!
