Hello fellow book lovers! Hope you’re all doing just great. Just a little update – yesterday, my mom and I went to the Philippine Consulate to apply for our Dual Citizenship. I am now a Filipino citizen again! The process was fairly easy, but it was the waiting that absolutely frustrated me. Just sitting there and waiting forever… and ever. I mean I did bring my kindle and a book, but there were so much noise and I was hungry (you couldn’t eat or drink inside) that I couldn’t get into reading at all. I was so happy when we were finally done and I could get my grub on. Hungry me is not pretty.

Now, let’s get back to my scheduled weekly TTT. Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and has been moved to That Artsy Reader Girl since January 16, 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic is Books on My Spring TBR. My To Be Read List will probably never end. Almost every single day, I find books I want to read and just add and add and add. I do plan and set some monthly reading goals, but something always happens that prevents me from being triumphant. So, let’s see how many of these I actually get to. Since I participate in blog tours quite a lot, I won’t be including those books here. I will however include some Netgalley books I really need to read. Wish me luck!!! I’m definitely going to need it.

I was so freaking happy when I was approved for this on Netgalley. This is one of my most anticipated reads this year and I’m incredibly excited to get to it. I mean just read the synopsis — it sounds so thrilling, epic and just an amazingly fun book to read.

Rebel Heir by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:

Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check. 

Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check. 

How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:

Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.

Check. Check. Check.

I should add—especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed God of a boss. Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town. Especially when he’s mean to you.

Or so I thought.

Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark. 

That was sort of how it all started with Rush.And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down. I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close. I wasn’t supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me. As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting—and complicated.

Fairytale retelling — definitely sign me up! This book has everything I love in fantasy stories – awesome cover art, thrilling premise, interesting MCs –prince killer and siren killer — whoa! and romance… I’m definitely sensing an amazingly swoony and forbidden romance. Sounds absolutely exhilarating and I cannot wait to get a copy!

Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi

Of course I have this beauty on here. I really want to read this before Yallwest on May 4-5, 2018 so I can get my book signed and tell Tahereh Mafi how much I love her books. I’ve already met her once before and she’s so sweet and nice! Just need to finish like 10 or so books before I can dive into this. No biggie right?!?

Always Never Yours by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka

I am extremely excited for this book to be released. I actually have this listed on my Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward to Reading in 2018. The premise seems really fun and super swoony. Plus, I sort of had a similar experience in high school. I felt that every time I broke things off with a guy, they always became a better boyfriend to someone else. This will certainly be an interesting read.

Traveler by S.E. Anderson

Sally’s search for Earth isn’t off to a good start: chased out of her hotel room and into the broom closet of a spaceship, she’s accidentally become a stowaway on the Alliance Flagship, Traveler.

But when sabotage and murder show the crew’s true colors, Zander and Blayde are forced to stay and help them out of their mess. Lies, drama, and deceit lead them light years away to a mysterious planet on the edge of the galaxy, where the crew must band together just to stay alive. Which would be much easier if they didn’t have to deal with a diva first-mate, a droid with a religious obsession, and Blayde’s Ex whose brain is a spaceship.

Finding Earth has to be put on the back burner, as Sally’s stuck tending alien boo-boos – and she still has no idea what she’s doing. And she might live long enough to get off the planet in one piece.

I absolutely love this series! It’s hilarious, intriguing and just so much fun. I just got my ARC copy this past weekend so I can’t wait to travel back into this mesmerizing world.

Bookish Boyfriends by Tiffany Schmidt

Merrilee Campbell, 16, thinks boys are better in books, chivalry is dead, and there’d be nothing more romantic than having just one guy woo her like the heroes in classic stories. Well, this book just sounds so darn adorable and cute. I surely have plenty of Bookish Boyfriends. I even created a weekly segment, Swoony Saturdates, where I gush and rave about all my favorite book boyfriends so I’m really hoping this will be a cutesy and fun read.

Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian

The premise has me totally psyched for this book! Revenge, seduction, and an unexpected romance with the enemy — doesn’t get any better than that. It comes out my birthday month too so I know that’s definitely one of the things I’ll be gifting myself.

Always and Forever Lara Jean by Jenny Han

Lara Jean is having the best senior year. And there’s still so much to look forward to: a class trip to New York City, prom with her boyfriend Peter, Beach Week after graduation, and her dad’s wedding to Ms. Rothschild. Then she’ll be off to college with Peter, at a school close enough for her to come home and bake chocolate chip cookies on the weekends.

Life couldn’t be more perfect!

At least, that’s what Lara Jean thinks…until she gets some unexpected news.

Now the girl who dreads change must rethink all her plans—but when your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?

I’ve been soooo scared to read this book. I’ve had not one, but two copies since it’s release months ago. I’ve been trying to emotionally prepare myself because I liked how the second book ended. BUT… Jenny Han will be at Yallwest and I really want to get this book signed and say hi to her again. From what I’ve been hearing so far (no spoilers of course), I think I should be okay… I hope, so I’m making it my goal to read this before May.

Where the Sea Takes Me by Heidi R. Kling

For Sienna Jones, the last two years have felt like two lifetimes. 

Now, she’s finally starting to move on, diving headfirst into humanitarian missions with Team Hope, schoolwork, and maybe sort of even love. 

Things are looking up.

Where I Found You was one of my favorites reads in 2017. The story was absolutely heartbreaking, wonderfully affecting, and so excruciatingly beautiful in every way. I’m positively in love with that book and cannot wait to continue Sienna and Deni’s story.

Sinister Love by T.L. Smith

I’m also adding one more to this list because I NEED this book like I need to breathe. No book cover yet, but here’s the synopsis from Goodreads

He was a drug I couldn’t kick. I’d overdosed on him before. It didn’t turn out well. I was stupid enough to let him crack my heart, in hopes we would fall off the same cliff together. No matter how much my idiotic heart wanted to love him, my head knew better.

That’s where the problem started. 

Maybe that’s how it should end.

 I actually just posted my review for Distorted Love so you can read how this book completely destroyed me. If there’s one thing I can tell you about this book — be prepared to stay up ALL NIGHT because once you start, you won’t be able to put it down. It will consume you until the very last page!

So that’s my Spring TBR! Doesn’t include all the books I want and need to read, but these are the ones that I’m MOST EXCITED about. Crossing everything there is to cross that I finish all these before Summer. I’m doing pretty okay with my reading goals.. not great, but also not bad.
