Hello beautiful lovely readers and Happy Friday! Have anything exciting planned for the weekend? Well, whatever you do, I hope you have lots and lots of fun!!!
When was the last time I did one of these?!?! Probably months and months ago… I don’t even remember anymore. I try to stay as organized as possible and write things down on my calendar and to do list, but it never seems to work quite like I planned… LOL. That’s just life… Well, let’s not dilly dally any longer and get to my First Lines Fridays pick today. I have a good feeling most of you will guess this one.
FIRST LINES FRIDAYS IS A WEEKLY FEATURE FOR BOOK LOVERS HOSTED BY WANDERING WORDS. WHAT IF INSTEAD OF JUDGING A BOOK BY ITS COVER, ITS AUTHOR OR ITS PRESTIGE, WE JUDGED IT BY ITS OPENING LINES?
-
PICK A BOOK OFF YOUR SHELF (IT COULD BE YOUR CURRENT READ OR ON YOUR TBR) AND OPEN TO THE FIRST PAGE
-
COPY THE FIRST FEW LINES, BUT DON’T GIVE ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT THE BOOK AWAY JUST YET – YOU NEED TO HOOK THE READER FIRST
-
FINALLY… REVEAL THE BOOK!
COPY AND PASTE THE TEXT AND BANNER (OR MAKE YOUR OWN!) ABOVE FOR YOUR OWN FIRST LINES FRIDAYS POSTS. MAKE SURE TO COMMENT YOUR FIRST LINES BELOW SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE CAN CHECK THEM OUT!
Here’s my pick for this week’s First Lines Friday!
I like to save things. Not important things like whales or people or the environment. Silly things. Porcelain bells, the kind you get at souvenir shops. Cookie cutters you’ll never use, because who needs a cookie in the shape of a foot? Ribbons for my hair. Love letters. Of all the things I save, I guess you could say my love letters are my most prized possession.
Now scroll down…
Does it sound familiar? Do you have a guess?
Keep going!!!
Almost there….
Just a little more…
I think you know this book….
Published: April 15th 2014 by Simon Schuster Books for Young Readers
Genre(s): Young Adult, Contemporary, Romance
What if all the crushes you ever had found out how you felt about them… all at once?
Sixteen-year-old Lara Jean Song keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They aren’t love letters that anyone else wrote for her; these are ones she’s written. One for every boy she’s ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly, Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control
Okay, so if you’ve been following me for a while, then you probably know that To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han is one of my favorite YA contemporary series. I loved it when it was still a duology and when Han announced she was writing a third book, I was excited and scared at the same time. I just really loved how it ended in the 2nd book that I was afraid it might not end well this time so I’ve been putting off reading the last book. Well, with the movie coming out TODAY on Netflix, I wanted to reread the first two books and FINALLY read Always and Forever Lara Jean. My friends and book buddies have been telling me I’ll love it, so I think it’s time I finally let go of the past ending and see how Lara Jean and Peter’s story concludes.
Have you read this book or series? What did you think? Will you be watching the movie today? I’m actually going to watch it with my brother’s gf. I introduced her to the series and she really loved it so they’re coming over today so we can AWWW AND SWOON over Lara Jean and Peter. I cannot wait to get off work and go home…
Thanks for stopping by and reading lovelies! I hope you have a wonderful Friday and a fabulous weekend!!!
That is such a great opening! I really want to read the books before watching the movie, but with everyone talking about how great the movie is, I’m not sure I can wait that long!

OMG I did the SAME thing! I put off reading the 3rd book for the SAME reason and read it only after rereading the first two before the movie came out!! Hah!
