Top Ten Tuesday – TOP TEN SERIES I WANT TO FINISH SOMEDAY

toptentuesday

Happy Tuesday Everyone! Time for another Top Ten Tuesday, which was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and has been moved to That Artsy Reader Girl since January 16, 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Today’s topic is Series I Don’t Plan to Finish. I don’t really have any at the moment that I completely want to abandon, so I’m going to share 10 series I’ve been meaning to finish, but haven’t yet. I probably set them aside because I wanted all the books in the series to be out, or I just wasn’t in the mood.

So without further ado, here the TOP TEN SERIES I WANT TO FINISH SOMEDAY.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before Series by Jenny Han – In fairness, I did finish the duology back when it was just that and I was really happy with the ending. Then came the third book. I’ve been meaning to read it, but I still can’t bring myself to do it because I l loved how it ended. It left so many possibilities for Peter and Lara Jean and I just wanted that for them. I do have friends who’ve read them and said I would love the conclusion and I haven’t really heard anything negative about it…so I’m going to push myself to reread the series before the Netflix movie of TATBILB comes out. I have more about 1 month and 1/2, so I think I can do it.

The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare – These books are just so long and sometimes I just really want to finish something. I’ve read all the way up to the 4th book and have enjoyed them all, but I can’t seem to bring myself to finish the series. There are also other books in this world and I have all those books too, but I haven’t picked up any of them. Maybe I’ll do a Cassandra Clare binge and just read all the books in this universe.

The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E. Pearson – I loved The Kiss of Deception and read part of The Heart of Betrayal, but ended up putting this aside because I didn’t want to wait a whole year for the final book. I had preordered The Beauty of Darkness and when it finally arrived, I was reading other books and just couldn’t get to this. I’ve forgotten some things, so I want to do a reread of this again.

The Celtic Legends by Martina Boone – I absolutely loved Lake of Destiny and Bell of Eternity. (You can click the titles and read my review for them). They’re both really well-written, charming, fun, romantic, and had gorgeous settings. I don’t know why it’s taking me so long to read Magic of Winter, but I have it on my list this summer. The good thing about this series is you can totally read the books as standalones.

The Red Queen Series by Victoria Aveyard – Another series that I wanted to wait until the entire thing was completed so I can binge read. I’ve only read Red Queen and really enjoyed that one. I’ve heard some negative reviews about this series, but I’m still really interested in seeing how it all ends.

The Cage Series by Megan Shepherd – I don’t hear so much about this series, but it’s absolutely amazing. I won a twitter ARC giveaway hosted by Megan and I couldn’t have been more excited that I did because I fell in love with Cassian and Cora. I still have a pretty good memory of what happened in the first two books, but I want to reread them again before diving into The Gauntlet.

The Unearthly Series by Cynthia Hand – I read the first one a few years ago and remember really loving it. I don’t know why I didn’t continue. I guess I probably wasn’t in the mood or got busy, but it’s been on my series to finish list since then.

An Ember in the Ashes Series by Sabaa Tahir – Read and completely loved the first book. I know this series isn’t finish yet, so I’m going to keep it on my list and when all the books have been released, I’m going to binge them all. I just really hate having to wait for sequels.

Configured Series by Jenetta Penner – Another series that I was waiting for to finish so  can binge the entire thing. I did read the first book and remember being really intrigued by the storyline, the concept and the characters.

Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling – I know I know… this series has been in my TBR FOREVER. I love everything Harry Potter and I loveeee the movies. I’ve read the first two books years ago when I was still in college and I absolutely loved them. I mean someday I really do want to finish this series, but I’m just more interested in reading other books at the moment.

Have you read any of this series? What are some series you don’t want to finish anymore and some that you plan of finishing someday? Which ones do you think I should bump up on my list?

As always, thanks for stopping by and reading. Don’t forget to leave the links to your TTT post if you’re participating, so I can check it out. Have a great day loves!
