WWW Wednesdays

wwwwednesdayI’m late again I know… Yesterday was crazy busy and quite stressful. There was so much work drama that I feel so drained. I like my job. It’s pays well. I do like what I do. I have some downtime every now and then which allows me to read and blog, so that’s always a good thing….BUT the inequality and discrimination sometimes just gets to me. Some days are better, other days not to much. And yesterday is just one of those days… Not to mention, my supervisor is lazy and always passes on his work to me. Anyway, enough about my little rant and sorry for being such a downer so early in the morning.

Back to books… cause books make me happy and a need a healthy dose of that to get me through two more days of work.

Let’s just get to my WWW Wednesdays shall we?

WWW Wednesday which is a weekly segment hosted by Taking on a World of Words.

Just answer these three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

I finished reading Right Kiss Wrong Guy by Natalie Decker and really enjoyed it. You can read my review here. I also finished reading The Dating Debate by Chris Cannon. I hadn’t plan on reading that until this week, but it sounded so adorable and fun and it was! I’ll have my review posted during my blog tour stop on February 14.

I’m still reading Pen and Xander by Laekan Zea Kem. I like the story and it’s very interesting, so I don’t know why it’s taking me so long to finish, but I am about halfway done now. Also, still reading The Key to Everything by Paula Stokes. I’ve gotten maybe 3-4 chapters. I think I’m going to focus on finishing Pen and Xander for the rest of the week and just dive into The Key to Everything during this weekend.

Next, I plan on reading What the Valley Knows by Heather Christie, Collide by Nicole Sobon (I have a blog tour for this), and  Nyxia by Scott Reintgen. If only I can call in sick for a few days, I would so I can read all these books…but I have so much work to do.

Any thoughts about these books?  Leave a comment down below. I’d love to hear from you.

waitingonwednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating. A similar meme, Can’t-Wait Wednesday, is hosted by Tressa over at Wishful Endings. If you’d like to participate in either one, don’t forget to link back to these lovely ladies and add your links in their posts.

My pick for this week’s “can’t wait to read” is

synopsispic

When her seventeenth summer solstice arrives, Brienna desires only two things: to master her passion and to be chosen by a patron.

Growing up in the southern Kingdom of Valenia at the renowned Magnalia House should have prepared her for such a life. While some are born with an innate talent for one of the five passions—art, music, dramatics, wit, and knowledge—Brienna struggled to find hers until she belatedly chose to study knowledge. However, despite all her preparations, Brienna’s greatest fear comes true—the solstice does not go according to plan and she is left without a patron.

Months later, her life takes an unexpected turn when a disgraced lord offers her patronage. Suspicious of his intent, and with no other choices, she accepts. But there is much more to his story, and Brienna soon discovers that he has sought her out for his own vengeful gain. For there is a dangerous plot being planned to overthrow the king of Maevana—the archrival kingdom of Valenia—and restore the rightful queen, and her magic, to the northern throne. And others are involved—some closer to Brienna than she realizes.

With war brewing between the two lands, Brienna must choose whose side she will remain loyal to—passion or blood. Because a queen is destined to rise and lead the battle to reclaim the crown. The ultimate decision Brienna must determine is: Who will be that queen?

The premise of this book sounds incredibly fun and so intriguing! What’s your Waiting on Wednesday pick today? Share those books, so I can add more on my TBR!
