Top Ten Tuesday – Favorite Book Character Names

toptentuesday

Hello fellow book lovers! Time for another fun Top Ten Tuesday post!!!

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and has been moved to That Artsy Reader Girl since January 16, 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This week’s topic is Best Character Names. I love how creative authors are when naming their characters. Some of them are really unique and so awesome that I woulnd’t using them to name my future children. So, let’s take a look at some book character names that I’m incredibly in love with.

MEGAN HARPER IS THE GIRL BEFORE. ALL HER EXES FIND THEIR ONE TRUE LOVE RIGHT AFTER DATING HER. IT’S NOT A CURSE OR ANYTHING, IT’S JUST THE WAY THINGS ARE, AND MEGAN REFUSES TO WASTE TIME FEELING SORRY FOR HERSELF. INSTEAD, SHE FOCUSES ON PURSUING HER NEXT FLING, DIRECTING THEATRE, AND FULFILLING HER DREAM SCHOOL’S ACTING REQUIREMENT IN THE SMALLEST ROLE POSSIBLE.

But her plans quickly crumble when she’s cast as none other than Juliet–yes, that Juliet–in her high school’s production. It’s a nightmare. No–a disaster. Megan’s not an actress and she’s certainly not a Juliet. Then she meets Owen Okita, an aspiring playwright who agrees to help Megan catch the eye of a sexy stagehand in exchange for help writing his new script.

Between rehearsals and contending with her divided family, Megan begins to notice Owen–thoughtful, unconventional, and utterly unlike her exes, and wonders: shouldn’t a girl get to play the lead in her own love story?

Here’s another lovely book I’m really excited about. The concept sounds really cute and fun. I tried to get an ARC of this on Netgalley, but sadly wasn’t approved. Then, I tried to get a physical ARC during Yallwest, but I didn’t make it. Guess I’m just meant to purchase it… which I will hopefully on my next paycheck. Having a puppy is kind of breaking my bank LOL.

ASPIRING FILMMAKER AND WALLFLOWER TWINKLE MEHRA HAS STORIES SHE WANTS TO TELL AND UNIVERSES SHE WANTS TO EXPLORE, IF ONLY THE WORLD WOULD LISTEN. SO WHEN FELLOW FILM GEEK SAHIL ROY APPROACHES HER TO DIRECT A MOVIE FOR THE UPCOMING SUMMER FESTIVAL, TWINKLE IS ALL OVER IT. THE CHANCE TO PUBLICLY SHOWCASE HER VOICE AS A DIRECTOR? DREAM COME TRUE. THE FACT THAT IT GETS HER CLOSER TO HER LONGTIME CRUSH, NEIL ROY—A.K.A. SAHIL’S TWIN BROTHER? DREAM COME TRUE X 2.

When mystery man “N” begins emailing her, Twinkle is sure it’s Neil, finally ready to begin their happily-ever-after. The only slightly inconvenient problem is that, in the course of movie-making, she’s fallen madly in love with the irresistibly adorkable Sahil.

Twinkle soon realizes that resistance is futile: The romance she’s got is not the one she’s scripted. But will it be enough?

Told through the letters Twinkle writes to her favorite female filmmakers, From Twinkle, with Love navigates big truths about friendship, family, and the unexpected places love can find you

I LOVEDDDDD When Dimple Met Rishi so I’m soooo happy this book is finally out. Didn’t get an ARC for this one either, but I’ll definitely be picking it up. I mean look at that cover… it’s the cutest thing ever and the premise sounds super adorable.

aboutthebook2

Published by Katherine Tegen Books

Genre(s): Young Adult, Contemporary, Thriller, Mystery

Pages: Hardcover 448

A gripping, relentless, and timely new novel from critically acclaimed author of Allegedly, Tiffany D. Jackson, about the complex mystery of one teenage girl’s disappearance and the traumatic effects of the truth.

Monday Charles is missing, and only Claudia seems to notice. Claudia and Monday have always been inseparable—more sisters than friends. So when Monday doesn’t turn up for the first day of school, Claudia’s worried. When she doesn’t show for the second day, or second week, Claudia knows that something is wrong. Monday wouldn’t just leave her to endure tests and bullies alone. Not after last year’s rumors and not with her grades on the line. Now Claudia needs her best—and only—friend more than ever. But Monday’s mother refuses to give Claudia a straight answer, and Monday’s sister April is even less help.

As Claudia digs deeper into her friend’s disappearance, she discovers that no one seems to remember the last time they saw Monday. How can a teenage girl just vanish without anyone noticing that she’s gone?

I’ve been reading more mystery and thriller books, so when I received this from Epic Reads, I was really excited. The synopsis sounds good and I can’t wait to get into this hopefully in  a few weeks.

Rush and Gia’s story continues in the gripping conclusion to the New York Times bestseller, Rebel Heir…

How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:

Sleep with your boss. Check.

Blow all your money on a rental you can’t afford. Check.

How to walk away from a man you fall in love with at the end of a summer:

…I’ll let you know when I figure it out.

I started Rehel Heir weeks ago, but then I got really busy and had other blog tours obligations, soooo I had to put it aside for while. I was really enjoying the story and romance, so I can’t wait to go back to it. I think I’m going to start over and binge the duology one weekend.
