This book is a collection of seven inspiring mini-biographies. The author uses the voices of Mattie Stepanek, Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, Mother Teresa, Terry Fox, Craig Kielburger, and her own reflections to encourage the reader to join a growing movement towards social responsibility and global citizenship.

Wonderfully Written and Absolutely Inspirational

Humanitarians, Visionaries, Heroes, and You by Mary Feliciani is a fantastic collection of short biographies of several remarkable people who have all made a difference in the world and inspired many others.

I really enjoyed reading this book and walked away feeling hopeful and motivated. It’s short, simple, and informative, but absolutely uplifting. I thought the writing style is effortless and meaningful. Feliciani has a wonderful way of evoking emotions and focusing on the positives. I liked being reminded about some of these amazing people and what they’ve done and also learning about new ones. My favorite part is reading the quotes and the author’s reflection.

I think this book is not only perfect for middle grade children, but also for adults and anyone feeling lost, confused, insecure or just need some kind of encouragement to get through a difficult day. It was an absolute joy to read and such a beautifully compelling book. I highly recommend it and think everyone will find something wonderful that can help them in one way or another.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

There are plenty of inspirational quotes in this book, but these are the ones that I love the most.
Find your voice, or at least plant the seed. If you have already found it, don’t be afraid to use it.  – Mary Feliciani
Think gently, speak gently, live gently. – Mattie Stepanek
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. – Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
We are the same in ways that are important, and we are different in the ways that are trivial. – Mary Feliciani
