All Dean wants is to escape…

But he can’t leave his younger brother, Ty, in the care of their alcoholic mother. And when their abusive father shows up, Dean has to get Ty out. Which means joining Shri — his best and only friend — in taking a job out of state and breaking the law by stealing his brother away.

Cadi’s life is almost back together after Dean blew it into a million pieces. She’s come to terms with her life as a shape-shifter — well, almost. She’s still trying to wrap her head around the fact that a vicious enemy is out to destroy the remnants of her people.

As if Cadi doesn’t have enough to deal with, Dean’s about to land on her front doorstep, forcing her to decide whether to let him into her secret world or slam the door in his face.

The Chameleon Effect series, starring shape-shifter teens with extraordinary superpowers, is sure to appeal to Young Adult and New Adult readers who enjoy romance with a paranormal twist.

An imaginative, thrilling, and addictive sci-fi romance

4hearts2 (1)

A unique and intriguing sci-fi romance, Perfect Pitch by Alex Hayes will have readers engrossed and wildly entertained until the very end.

Idris and Cadi finally know who they really are and where they come from. They’re shapeshifting aliens with extraordinary powers who are bonded for life. After closing the wormhole and confessing to their foster parents, Idris and Cadi finally begin to feel at home. But, with their enemies relentlessly hunting their kind, Idris and Cadi will never be truly safe. Will they be prepared and strong enough to protect each other and save everyone they love from whatever danger that comes their way?

I thoroughly enjoyed this sequel and if I’m being honest, I actually like it way more than the first book. It is still a little weird, but that’s one of the things I love that about this series. I think the storyline is original, imaginative, enthralling and absolutely addictive. I really like the world-building, the writing is fantastic, the plot is fast-paced, and there are some amazing feels in this book. The characters are charming and loveable. Idris and Cadi are super adorable together and I’ll ship them forever. Their chemistry definitely becomes more intense and there are a few steamy scenes. I wasn’t too fond of Dean before, but he completely won me over. Ty and Pepper are just too cute and I’ll protect them till the end. Shri is fiesty and my kind of girl. I love Cadi’s foster parents and what they’re doing for her truly warmed my heart. Overall, I think this story is well-written and fabulous! I truly enjoyed going on this fun and wonderful sci-fi adventure and I totally can’t wait to read more from this series.

Packed with plenty action, humor, family conflict, relationship drama, heartwarming moments, and a swoony romance, Perfect Pitch by Alex Hayes had me glued to the pages. I really can’t rave about this enough so if you love sci-fi, fantasy, and romance, then I think you should definitely add this series on your TBR.

I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley for participating in a Blog Tour hosted by Xpresso Book Tours. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cadi has finally found a safe and loving home. Then a malicious boy turns her whole world upside down. The next thing she knows, she’s wandering the streets on New Year’s Eve, alone.

— Until a crystal leads her to this lizard boy with a smart mouth and massive ego.

To change Idris back into his sexy human self, Cadi must reveal a secret she’s been holding close to her heart for as long as she can remember. A secret that will send them racing to close a wormhole ahead of a deadly army.

I’m not completely in love with this book, but it’s definitely an amusing and delightfully weird story. I also think it’s incredibly imaginative and I was intrigued by the paranormal aspects and the world-building. The writing is captivating and I really enjoyed the flow of the story. With fascinating and likable characters, lighthearted humor, an adorable romance, and plenty of thrills, Silken Scales is a fantastically fun read.

synopsis4

Marigold Appleton was made for the laid-back beach life of picturesque WaterColor, Florida. Unfortunately, her bank account was not. She’s about to lose her gift shop due to her hidden location. When the town which rarely allows hotels announces they are designating a plot of land for one, Marigold convinces her father to bid on the land and build one of his boutique hotels on it so she can move her shop into it. But also bidding on the same plot of land is property developer and insanely hunky Dane Knight. She’s got to keep her guard up, because his interest in her may be only to get her to drop her bid for the land. She just wishes he wasn’t the first guy in years to make her knees buckle.

For weeks, Dane has been trying to get the girl he met at the bonfire out of his brain. As she crystalizes in front of him at the bar of the WaterColor clubhouse, he knows his daydreams of her didn’t stack up to the real thing. But he just got out of a poisonous relationship. His ex has a bad habit of dropping her kids off without notice, and he’s too big of a sucker for them to say no. A relationship with Marigold is out of the question. But after he gives in to his weakness for her for the first time, he knows he’s never going to be able to get her out of his heart.

WaterColor Wishes is book four in the Love Along Highway 30A series, which features beautiful beach communities, a circle of unique and amazing friends, and romances that will have you cheering on the couples and fanning yourself from the heat. All books are standalone and can be enjoyed in or out of order.

notesfromtheauthor

I want to LIVE in the covers of the Love Along Hwy 30A series! The aspect of this picture that drew me in was the intimacy of this couple. And with the brightness of the picture, I sort of feel like they are looking toward their future. WaterColor Wishes is a fun love story as hopeful as its cover portrays!

Seaside Sweets.jpgAfter her ex runs up her credit card, clears her bank account, and gets her fired, Seanna Perry makes her escape to the quaint beach town of Seaside, Florida. The houses are pastel, the ocean air heaven, and the men hot as the Gulf Coast sun…one in particular. But while paying the price, literally, for the last man she trusted with her heart, she’s not interested in any sort of beach romance, or so she keeps reminding herself.

Living in the idyllic coastal paradise of the 30A area hasn’t eased Blake Evans’ guilt over what went down three years ago. He can’t stop blaming himself, and certainly none of his wonderful friends can ever find out what happened. Blake’s done a good job of keeping romantic feelings toward any women at bay, and he needs to keep it that way. But when Seanna begins to show him how to live again, he finds himself struggling to keep his guard up.

Seaside Sweets is book one in the Love Along Highway 30A series, which features beautiful beach communities, a circle of unique and amazing friends, and romances that will have you cheering on the couples and fanning yourself from the heat. Seacrest Sunsets.jpgMaya Forbes has never had a one-night-stand. With her irresponsible but brilliant sister filling the role of flighty one, Maya must live sensibly and dutifully. But when she meets a gorgeous redneck from Panama City Beach who makes her head whirl, she must quit thinking idiotic thoughts about upending her life after one week of mind-altering sex, especially with her dream promotion waiting for her back home.

Bo Harrison has lived his entire life in a tourist town where the women he meets are typically gone in a week. After a long-term relationship that left him mentally drained, he didn’t mind the easy, week-long romances for a while. But watching his best friend fall in love has him thinking along those lines, especially when he meets a woman unlike any he’s ever dated—smart, sexy, independent. The catch? She leaves in one week, of course.

Seagrove Secrets.jpg

With Shayla Harrison’s dangerous ex leaving rehab and headed her way, she needs to find a safe house and fast. When tall, dark, and ridiculously handsome Chase O’Neil offers a secure place to stay in beautiful Seagrove Beach for dirt cheap, she and her wallet can’t refuse. Romance is the last thing she wants, but the safety and warmth she feels with Chase are impossible to ignore.

Chase is the life of the party. He makes everyone laugh—whatever it takes to hide a soul-deep pain he can’t fix. He’s been living in romance purgatory since his son died and his marriage ended six years ago. When he meets the mysterious and intriguing Shayla, the emotional wall he’s worked so hard to build starts to crumble. She makes him want all the things he knows he can’t have, including her love.

Seagrove Secrets is book three in the Love Along Highway 30A series, which features beautiful beach communities, a circle of unique and amazing friends, and romances that will have you cheering on the couples and fanning yourself from the heat.
