A Little Update…

hellobookworms

Hello Everyone! I hope you’re all having a wonderful week. I wanted to do a short update on what’s been going on with me lately. I know I haven’t been very active here as much as before. It’s been a bit of a challenge trying to get back into the groove of things, but I really do try. There are just too many things going on right now and at the end of the day, I’m just too exhausted to get on the computer and blog. In short, life just happens.

My boyfriend and I also got a new puppy two weeks ago, and she has been taking all my time.

Look how cute she is!! I just can’t resist that face. Her name is Brownie and she’s a maltese and yorkie mix. She’s a fiesty spunky little thing. She’s curious, energetic, adorable, but also very demanding. My other dog, Choco, also isn’t used to her yet, so that’s extra work for us. He growls and snaps at Brownie, and all she wants is to play. He isn’t used to other dogs, so it’s going to take a while. I’m just hoping that in a month Choco won’t mind her as much and they can finally get along. Oh and before you ask, my mom takes care of the dogs while we’re both at work. And my boyfriend doesn’t start until 10:00 and sometimes 3:00pm so he’s there to help out.

I still do get to read (when Brownie gets tired and falls asleep) and I have some blog tours and reviews coming up. BUT, if it takes me a while to respond to you, that just means I’m preoccupied.

I also went to Yallwest last weekend and got sick again, so I’ve been taking it easy these last few days. I actually lost my voice during Yallwest and had a really bad sore throat. I wasn’t missing the event though, so I hydrated like crazy and braved through all the lines. I’ll have a recap really soon. Maybe next week. I got some awesome books and met some favorite authors like Marissa Meyer!!!

Here’s a sneak peek at all the stuff I got… There are 4-5 bags in there.

I’m hoping to be able to do more fun blogging stuff really soon… but for now, just wanted you all to know I MISS YOU!!!

  1. Yay for awesome stuff and CONGRATS on your new puppy! She looks so sweet and I’m sure with time your pups will learn to get along!

    • Thank you! I really hope they do. It would definitely make my life easier if they can just roam around and play together. But first, we have to get the new pup vaccinated and potty trained.

      • Yes! I have a lot of dogs and most of them get along, but we have two boys who really don’t like each other at all, so they avoid each other as much as possible LOL.

    • Thank you! My cough gets really bad at night and in the morning but I’m surviving haha. I think this year just had some crazy bad flu season. A lot of people I know got sick a few times this year.

And yes she is super adorable, but very stubborn and naughty.

      • Yeah it was a really rough flu season around here too. But surprisingly the first year I didn’t get it! It’s weird. 🤷‍♀️

Being mischievous is part of their charm! 😉

  2. Oh my goodness your puppers is adorable!! Welcome to puppy parenthood. I got my girl a year ago next week and I remember what a time drain she was during potty training/sleep schedule etc. Not that they’re not worth it! Stay strong! You’ve got this!!

    • Thank you! She is cute, but mannnn she is so naughty. Our backyard doesn’t have grass anymore cause of the California drought so we have rocks instead. She keeps on digging and chewing on the rocks. I think she’s probably swallowed two already. Before it was easy for me to catch her and just open her mouth and take the rock. But now she rans away from me and she is freaking fast. She doesn’t have her vaccinations yet so I can’t walk her out. I do tell her no and stop really firm, but she is sooo stubborn. lol. I told my boyfriend it would be difficult with a new puppy and he really wanted her. Now, I’m the one worrying and stressing about the dogs and he’s like let the dogs be dogs haha. But she’s so tiny. My other dog is a chihuahua mix and he’s small too, but the puppers is like 1/4 his size. He growls at her and snaps, but I don’t think he’s being aggressive. But still, it makes me so nervous haha. If the pup was the same size, then I probably wouldn’t be as stressed haha. I did read online that it takes a while especially with older dogs. My chihuahua is about 9 already. LOL

      • Oh my gosh that’s bringing me back! Yeah we got ours at 8-weeks so we had to potty train, work on getting her to sleep through the night, and keep her in “safe” areas of the yard/nature until all her vaccinations were done. And at first it feels like you’re at the vet like every two weeks, but then it calms down. We didn’t have another dog to introduce her to, but they’ll mellow out once the “dominance” has been established lol. I’m also get all the stress and worry. I was always like OVERLY cautious with her and my hubby just teased me nonstop. I wish you luck!!! =D
