aboutthebook2

Published by Vi Keeland July 23, 2018

Genre: New Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Kindle Edition 300 Pages

From #1 New York Times Bestseller Vi Keeland, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.

It was just a typical Monday.

Until the big boss asked me to make the pitch for a prospective new client.

After two years on shaky ground at work because of my screw up, an opportunity to impress the senior partners was just what I needed.

Or so I thought…

Until I walked into the conference room and collided with the man I was supposed to pitch.

My coffee spilled, my files tumbled to the ground, and I almost lost my balance.

And that was the good part of my day.

Because the gorgeous man crouched down and looking at me like he wanted to eat me alive, was none other than my ex, Gray Westbrook.

A man who I’d only just begun to move on from.

A man who my heart despised—yet my body obviously still had other ideas about.

A man who was as charismatic and confident as he was sexy.

Somehow, I managed to make it through my presentation ignoring his intense stare.

Although it was impossible to ignore all the dirty things he whispered into my ear right after I was done.

But there was no way I was giving him another chance, especially now that he was a client
…was there?

Kenzie holds one truth above all: the company is everything.

But then a routine drill goes sideways and Kenzie is taken hostage by rioting prisoners.

At first, she’s confident her commanding officer—who also happens to be her mother—will stop at nothing to secure her freedom. Yet it soon becomes clear that her mother is more concerned with sticking to Omnistellar protocol than she is with getting Kenzie out safely.

Top Ten Tuesday – Books that Remind Me of Special Memories and People

toptentuesday

Hello Loves! How’s your week going so far? I hope all is well and you’re having a great summer. As for me, I’m really not liking the current heat wave. It’s super hot in Los Angeles…at least for me and I’m not a fan at all. It just makes me feel so sluggish and lazy.  All I want to do is stay indoors with the AC on and just nap the whole day. I honestly cannot wait for it to be fall and winter cause I love the cold and the rain. Not to mention, they’re the perfect weather for reading.

Anyway, it’s Tuesday which means time for another TTT!!

This week’s topic for Top Ten Tuesday is about Sensory Reading Memories. These are the books that are linked to very specific memories for you: where you were, what time of year it was, who you were with, what you were eating, what you were feeling, what you were seeing, etc. It was submitted by Jessica over at A Cocoon of Books. I had fun going a short trip down my reading memory lane, so let’s take a look at the books that remind me of special memories and people.

Top Ten Tuesday, which was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and has been moved to That Artsy Reader Girl since January 16, 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Here are my picks for this week’s topic!

Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer

I saw the movie first, but was so obsessed that I binge read the series during my midterms week my senior year. It’s been quite a few years now and I still regret nothing. This series got me back into reading and pretty much made me fall in love with books.

Nicholas Sparks Books

These books always remind me of a certain ex-boyfriend. He borrowed A Walk to Remember and never gave it back. We thought we were “soulmates” like Allie and Noah. And after we had broken up and still kind of missed each other, I told him Dear John reminds me of him (since he was in the Navy and used to write me letters).

Jessica Darling Series by Megan McCafferty

sloppyfirsts

My best friend, Nicole, introduced these books to me and she was kind of the one that got me into reading back in high school. I mean I read books for my classes and there were a few that I really did enjoy… but I didn’t really read for fun. Anyway, I didn’t finish the series (read only up to the second book), but someday I want to binge read it.

Addicted by Zane

addicted

Another book that Nicole recommended to me. This was the first adult/erotic book I’ve ever read and it was really out of my comfort zone. I can’t believe I actually read this in high school, but it was really good.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares

sisterhoodpants

I have fond memories of this book/series because my high school girl friends and I passed this around during our senior. We also saw the movie together and kind of started our own sisterhood. No matter what, “Together and Apart” we would always try to keep in touch. Sadly, I’m not as close to some of them. Partly my fault cause I’m kind of anti-social sometimes and would rather be home than go out, hang out, club and party. I am still very close to two of them even if we never see or talk to each other. One of them is my best friend Nicole. We just always clicked… even when we had a fall out, we still remained very close. She’s just one of those people that no matter how long we don’t speak or see each other, when we do it’s like the same as always.

Well, those are some book that make me feel nostalgic and remind me of people and special moments in the past.

Have you read any of these books? What are some books that are linked to certain moments, people, or times in your life?

As always, thanks for stopping by and reading. Don’t forget to link your post so I can check it out. Have a wonderful day and a great rest of the week!
